Titan4Ever said:. "Art is the issue. Not vrabel".

It's his boy, right? Vrabel hired him? I'd say he's responsible for what he put out there. He put his stamp of approval on it all. An OC is almost always the reason why a head coach is fired.
Do you even pay attention to the Titans?
Art was hired specifically for Mariota. The ONLY reason Art is OC is because poor, little, fragile Mariota. Mariota has proven that he cannot be a good qb, so now we are stuck with Art. Thanks Mariota, not only have you been stinking it up but you hog tie us to a rookie OC.

Mariota was the issue, not Art. Already the offense looks more fluid.
Bro we should have put that game away and done more on offense but arts and play calling stalled drives and almost cost us the game. We got lucky. Tanny fumbled twice and had a dropped int. Mariota could have won us that game just as easy. Then again he could have played bad but don't act like Art is not a big issue.

No, I'm not buying it. The Titans went after Tannehill with perhaps full intention of making him their starting QB. Why would they do this? I feel that Arthur Smith wanted what he believed was a better QB for his offensive scheme, after all he was the new OC. Mariota was just extra baggage and it perhaps was already decided that the organization would not give him a new contract. He was expendable. It raised a lot of eyebrows when the
Titans acquired Tannehill because they're paying him more than a million dollars. They're not going to do that and then keep him on the sidelines. They had full intention of playing him.

Nothing happens unless it goes thru Vrabel. I assure you, Vrabel did Mariota no favors and took the team in an entirely different direction.

Vrabel was a lineman and he's probably never thrown a football his entire life. Here he is, a greenhorn head coach hiring an OC. If you want to blame someone, I think you go after the idiot that hired Vrabel.

Forget Tanny! Brady will be available this offseason. We all know JRob will be in the running for that steal.

I answer my own question before anyone else does....PLAYOFF's or Nope. Basically win the division and the JOB is yours....IMO.

already behind the 8 ball lol.
2 division losses hurts especially the Indy one

Tannehill was the 2nd most aggressive QB in the NFL per next gen stats. He had an expected completion % of 57%. He competed 79% of his attempts, the biggest differential in the league.

You do realize Tannehill’s deal was not that big compared to other backup QB, right?

Lots of other, less capable backups are making more than Tannehill.

We haven't beaten anyone yet. He looked good, but let's make the playoffs and beat someone. If he does that he has more than earned the right to be the starter next year. However, no matter what, draft a qb with the expectation that Tannehill will mentor him until he is ready to start. Then Tannehill is more than an adequate backup.

This post is absolute insanity on multiple dimensions.

Tannehill has become the new Mariota. If he proves that he can stay healthy, he should be extended.

Our receivers finally have a QB. It's like they were growing before our eyes on Sunday, being asked to win at the catch point and pull down some trust throws. They answered every single time. There were also several throws in which the defender had good position, but could not react quickly enough with the velocity and accuracy that he puts on the ball.

Also, our defense had a bit of an off day, and that really could have been an issue if we had 3 and outs at the rate we did with Mariota. We had 0 on Sunday, and won the time of possession. This really would have been an ugly game with Mariota, as you could tell that Rivers was fighting to save the season.

Unless we absolutely hit the jackpot, no rookie is going to come even close to that performance in his first start. We're built to win now. I believe that we can get there with Tannehill.

You act like tanny killed it. He had an average game and was lucky to not have 3 turnovers

Wish Mariota would have had a lot more “average” games. He wouldn’t look as much like the giant bust/franchise set back that he is.

Mariota has had 2 games already better than tanny this year. Lets see if tanny can do better than either or will he be inconsistent. I hope he continues to play well enough for us to win.
