Yes they are.

Funny how it’s ALL Mary’s fault but never the other 10.

Do you listen to yourself?
Who is that comment referring to?
You’ve gone so far off the rails you’re imagining arguments that don’t exist or at least are quoting the wrong guy.

Do you comprehend other people?

And ironically enough, you’re the one that suggested W/L should be credited to the QB. I directly contradicted that.

So...are you saying that if he doesn't put up stats like the top 5 QB's, we should dump him and try again for a HOF qb? How many years do you give a QB to hit those numbers? 1, 2, 3, 5?

Of course we shouldn't stop looking for a Hall of Fame QB, but you don't need a HOF QB to win the SB and your odds of drafting a HOF qb are quite low. So the question is, do you throw away your chances of winning now to keep trying to find a HOF qb...or try to win now with solid qb? Obviously, Mariota and others will have to step up to earn new contracts...but where do YOU draw the line? Would you let him go and mortgage several drafts on another 50/50 chance at a 'franchise' qb who is not likely to be a Hall of Fame qb?
If he was putting up stats like a top 15 QB and was staying healthy, I wouldn't complain. But he hasn't done either of those things, and he has not proven that we can rely on him. So yeah, if he doesn't show go in a different direction this year, then we absolutely need to look at moving on.

It absolutely is a crapshoot to mortgage your future and take a QB high, but there have arguably been more successes than failures doing that lately. Also half measures of bringing in someone who failed somewhere else are not the answer either. Dozens of teams have tried that and they're always in stuck in QB purgatory. But Marcus also hasn't proven he deserves any kind of long term contract yet.

Looking into my crystal ball for this upcoming season, I'm going to guess that Marcus is ok, plays really well in some spots, has injury issues and misses a game or two, and we end up franchising him and end up in the same spot again next year.

It’s crazy. He is literally pointing at 10 people all sucking Vs 1 with an average record. He barely has a winning record. Some weren’t even his wins. .500 is the fight here?

It’s bizarre to say the least.

It continues to remind me of that thread a couple years back with an article talking about how Titans fans are attracted to the mediocre players. Some suggested it was because those mediocre players were among our “best” while the team was only winning 3 games.

I’m just confused because when you bring up average record, .500, it’s then blamed on everyone else each of the past 4 years......

I want Mary to throw for 4k, 28 TDs, 9 ints and then we franchise tag him with the hopes of making him our long term QB.

But you guys tell me daily I don’t know what the phuck I’m talking about. Lol

I’ve said the same things man. They easily forget that and say “I’m a broken record” or that everyone knows this etc.....They constantly throw stats, excuses, everyone else sucks, and that I’m a quote “hater”. Why? Because I State the obvious that he’s a .500 QB that’s often injured? It’s nuts....

“Well” must be defined then.

I’ve stated before, minimimum marks before being considered for starter $ should be 3800, 25 and <10 TO. Still keeping a >60% comp.
Add his avg rushing stats.
Do you realize only 5 qbs in the entire league met that criteria last season? Push the TO to 15, and its still only 10 guys.

Your numbers are great for fantasy football leagues, but the NFL has 32 teams, so it's just not realistic to expect that. A more accurate threshold for starting qb would be about 3200, 20 and <15 to.

"Marcus Mariota is better than Steve McNair and as good as Drew Brees at this point in their careers."- The Mary Fairies.

I think there’s room for debate on the specific stats but I thinks it’s worth pointing out that Mariota has had back to back garbage seasons and to be considered the long term guy, he should be above the literal “avg” QB.

Add a couple TD (10 reaches 29, 5 reaches 34) or yards (15 broke the 3800 mark, 12 broke 4K) and his TO numbers going up would still look impressive. 50TD and 15 INT is worth it over 27/14.
Separately, not all his fault, but his sack numbers need to drop. The OL got another upgrade, that should help.

If he phones in another 3K, 20 TD, 10INT, I’d give him the heave-ho outside staying onboard as backup.

What?

Mariota needs to go out and win games. You’re obviously not a coach or former player because a qb should never go out looking to hit a “stat” margin. That’s stupid John Madden.

That’s how you get unnecessary picks and turnovers.

How incredibly stupid would you look if we won the Super Bowl and he didn’t have those stats.

That’s why real football people don’t take you seriously

I wish CJ would take me off of ignore. What is up with the obsession here?! lol. Beat Drew Brees? Who cares if he beat him and Brady for 1 game. Brees is light years ahead of Mariota in every aspect. Availability, accuracy, pocket presence, yards/TD’s, basically everything. Oh, and he has a Super Bowl ring. This dude can’t be serious....I don’t care if Mariota beats a good QB or team here and there....He loses ones he should or needs to win as well. And is a perennial .500 guy. 1 playoff appearance, and barely.....Give me a friggin break.
