CJthebeast still hyping single game stats and ignoring the finished product as always.....11 TD’s...55% QBR. 30th in the league...disastrous stats he likes to ignore. Still loving average over there CJ? .500

You might not want to quote a stat (55.6 qbr) that says he's above average when you're calling him average.

Oh I do at times. With the Tannehill thing, etc....520 with Mett etc. I don’t discriminate....but to defend average in here like dude has been Patrick Mahomes or some chit. Guy got outplayed by Josh F ing Rosen damn near in his first year! Think about that.

He got outplayed by Rosen? Got back to my posts refuting this claim! You offered this up before, and I knocked it down. Go back and read...then stop repeating nonsense.

And you wonder why some call you a broken record?

Two things to consider.

First, to reach 4k yards, he's gonna need about 500 attempts minimum...and he's never been given that many opportunities in any year of his career. As well as Drew Brees played this year, he didn't hit 4k yards because he had too few attempts...and that's with a ridiculous near 75% completion. Only way he hits 4k is if they let him throw more (and of course, he stays healthy).
Let’s pretend 500 att isn’t some major feat right now. 15 QBs reaches that mark last year. The only QB that didn’t reach that mark and play all 16 games was Russell Wilson.
As far as Brees, he missed 1 game. I’m sure he would have got the 11 attempts and 8 yards he needed for 500 and 4K.

I think that’s the point though. If this guys is expected to be the franchise QB and get a contract backing that up, he does need to pass more. And his health is probably the biggest knock preventing him from already having a new contract, so of course he must stay healthy.
If he gets hurt again this year, might as well start saying your good-byes.

<yawn...>

You get called a broken record when you literally are posting the same concept multiple times in short amounts of time. We read it the first time...no need to repeat and repeat. Plus, it's not the first time you've brought it up. It's already previously been discussed ad nauseum.

Additionally, you make the same insult over and over again. There are people who hate Mariota on this board and I'm sure some who are overly optimistic. But your rhetoric that everyone who doesn't hate him, all love him and are then subjected to your same childish insult is you being a broken record...since I've pointed this out to you before. There are those of us in the middle who see reality. Don't lump us in to either side because that just shows your hate. You know better!

And yes, when you jump on the bandwagon of hate posts by others...expect people to point this out.

Yes you have made some middle of the road posts about Mariota, but they appear to be far outweighed by you jumping on with those that have a sharply negative view of Mariota.
Thanks Dr. Phil. :)

The stats don’t lie. Worse defense, crap OL. Get off his bag already....

You're right, the stats don't lie...so why are you??? Mariota's stats are much better than Rosen's.

LOL...now YOU'RE defending a qb by saying everyone around the qb sucks???

Hilarious!

How would you rate our OL's performance last year?

My point is, like Wilson, our offense has not given a qb a chance to throw 500 attempts. Part of that is the success of the offense and part of that is playcalling. Obviously with Mariota, injuries have also been a contributing factor...but even when healthy they haven't put him on pace for that.

If people want the stats of other qb's, Mariota is one part of the equation (health and performance) but the coaching staff giving him the opportunity will be the other half (along with the health and performance of what's around him).

No. WTF is wrong with you people??

The Titans need to win. Period. Mariota only needs to do what's asked of him. If Henry goes wild and we don't need to pass a ton, feed the hot hand. If the receivers start killing it, and the passing game opens up, throw the ball.

Gut you’re honestly enlightening the fan base but those people aren’t debating you. You won the debate weeks ago. They’re trolling.

But honestly I enjoy your perspective so keep on. I just think you’re using too much reason, and the opposition is not.

Here’s to a long playoff run and winning season

Then he shouldn’t get payed like one of the other starters either. If we are to expect that even a 16 game healthy Mariota is going to max out at around 450 passes, then he needs to be paid somewhere around the bottom of the starters pay since he’s getting utilized like one of the bottom starters.

That’s fine with me provided Jrob stops wasting capital on “weapons” that the offense has zero plan to actually use. And in all honesty, Mariota has played well enough to win a SB. Don’t turn the ball over but every dollar spent should be towards improving the running game and ensuring at least a top 5 defense.

So run if it’s working, pass if it’s working. Got it.

What happens when neither are working like a lot of last year?

“Titans need to win. Period.” What are you talking about? Is this a rah rah speech for Vrabel and the team? How does the team win? 9 wins won’t cut it. Losing to division rivals won’t cut it. Over paying for a QB that gets used like a weak starter or less, wont cut it and frankly will hurt the team elsewhere which is what this whole thing is about.

Speaking of “what’s asked of him” what is asked of Mariota? Any guess it’s not 2500 yards and 11 TD? I’ll assume that ANOTHER WR draft pick means that what he’s asked to do, is about to increase largely. Hope he’s ready for it because he hasn’t shown that he is.

Yeah kind of why I was hoping we'd do more with the OL and add Suh to the D. But let's hope the GM and the HC are on the same page that we needed more weapons and an upgrade to the OL and that they plan to USE them all to create a top 10 offense to match our D!

Time will tell!

If our offense puts up top 10 numbers and the D holds last year's form, we go through the AFC like a hot knife through butter.

That's where so much of the frustration has come from. If we were getting ANYTHING out of the offense last year, and the year before, we'd be true contenders.

And what happens when we don’t pay Conk and Henry? Then, do we go back to the excuses of Mariota not having any weapons and supporting cast?

The offense has weapons now. We've never had weapons before. I don't know what fan expects the offense to be a problem.
