Draft Jeffrey Simmons if he’s available. Sign Suh to a one year deal while Simmons mends. Trade a mid round pick for Gerald McCoy. Move up in the 2nd to draft one of the top WRs. Move Conklin to Guard and have Kelly start at RT. Boom.

That injury to Simmons is more serious than people make it. We aren’t in a position to take a dude that needs time and may sit, or never be the same. Just out of curiosity, I’d be interested to see how guys entering the nfl pan out coming in with major ACL injuries (all jokes aside). No doubt he is a top 5 talent, but that’s a big risk imo. I guess it all depends on who is sitting there at 19 right?

Strange how McShay mocked Deandre Baker to us st 19. Is that realistic? I like him but a corner ? Do these guys do their homework or am I missing something? I like best player available but he didn’t seem like the best player at that spot nor a position of dire need.
He is a straight up tool idiot. The best of the so called experts was Mike Mayock who is with Oakland now

They are looking at it like this...and I've seen a few others make the same claim. Basically, they are trying to sell everyone on who the top prospects are in their mind so they want to send that guy to us. Possible, yes. The argument is we MIGHT have to shell out a lot of money to Mariota next offseason and Ryan is a free agent. Taking a top CB now means we have more depth and a guy to take over for him next year. Similar to the idea of taking Lewan a year early and we ended up needing him to play LT his rookie year anyway.

I seriously doubt we'll take a cb in round 1. Too much front 7 talent (which is better than the cb talent) and offensively, we need OL, TE, and WR more than CB.

How so?

We aren’t in a position to take a dude that needs time and may sit, or never be the same.

Why?

Most players are fine but you never know 100%. If he was on the team already and suffered an acl, you wouldn't be wondering as much if he'll come back fully healthy, just how long it'll take.

Here's the thing. Maybe Simmons gets you 7+ games or is back for the playoffs to make an impact. Or maybe not. If you're ONLY focused on this year, and that impact is not enough, then maybe you go in another direction. But would you want to pass on him if by year 3 he was one of the top 5 players in this draft and we could have had him at #19? If he's gonna be as good as expected, what's 8-10 lost games out of a 10 yr career?

Is it a risk? Yes. Question is, is it worth the upside. There are a lot of those calculations on a lot of our potential choices.

A lot of them.

Are we talking ACL injuries, period, or injured close to the draft/not in the phase of rehab to work out?

If it's the latter, two immediately come to mind; Willis McGahee and Jaylon Smith.

The former? Literally hundreds over the course of the last ten years. It's not 1995 anymore. ACL reconstruction rehab is grueling, but the surgery is routine at this point.

Too bad Ifo Ekpre-Olomu fell victim to tearing his ACL before getting drafted. If not, he would've easily been a top 20 pick.

After digging through a few more websites, I've found that the original count of ED OLIVER & CHRISTIAN WILKINS only making one visit/meeting of some sort with the Titans to be wrong.

The Titans met with Christian Wilkins at the Combine & his Pro Day
(Same meetings of Rashaan Evans)

The Titans met with Ed Oliver at the Combine & Brought him in for an Official 30

Both of these prospects are the ONLY Guaranteed 1st round talents that have made 2 or more visits.

ZERO 1st Rd. Tight Ends - One has yet to be found making any appearance on a Titan predraft visit.

The Next 2 (whom are probably 2nd round talents) are Lindstrom and Polite with 2 visits.

I'm expecting ED OLIVER or CHRISTIAN WILKINS now more than ever, and if neither is available, a trade down -- where the field is flooded with Pre Draft visitors.

Who wants to bet we don't get Wilkins??? I got moolah to blow, and I guarentee we don't draft that overrated male molester.

I’ll take it.

So the bet is: Titans take CWilkins if and when they make their first pick if he’s available.

You're willing to bet the Titans take the field over one guy?

Hot take alert.
