and its already been stated how he missed starts because of these injuries

Yea but Farve missed a couple games his last year due to his injuries but you were ok using him as an example.

You used McNabb too yet he missed time and well. He started a full 16 games 4 times in his 13 year career.

Honestly were not going to get anywhere. Believe as you wish.

:toast:

yea man here's to hoping Mariota gets rid of the ball quicker and can stay injury free!

:highfive:

Please. Mariota doesn't seem like he knows how to do his own job, let alone help the WRs do theirs. If he's getting outplayed in practice on top of that, the coaches will take notice
Tannehill is still the Backup
They are gonna let Mariota prove himself or fail, either way Tannehill is the backup

Last year his problems were suspect pocket presence and holding ball too long . Mix that with shaky interior O line play and you get a bunch of sacks and qb injuries . Sprinkle in the losses of his two primary targets (walker and Matthews) and a few crucial drops by receivers and there you have it he loses confidence . I know sometimes we’re ridiculously snake bitten but barring any witchcraft we can look forward to possibly having a nice year with Marcus or Tannehill. If Mariota doesn’t get nicked up too bad I don’t see how he doesn’t improve significantly stat wise . No excuses , not sure if Marcus’s pocket presence will ever improve dramatically but if he’s protected within a familiar system and has faith in his targets we’ve seen what he can do . He’s not a franchise saving quarterback but he can be a franchise qb because although his pure passing skills maybe middle of pack , his running and intangibles are elite . If not , we can possibly catch fire with Tannehill . Tanny can fill in without all the pressure that’s on Marcus .He can possibly sit back if protected and sling it downfield better than Marcus and give opposing defenses something they’re not used to seeing from us in recent years . Our schedule looks rough but we have a lot to look forward to regardless who’s behind center . I can’t say enough how happy I am that we have TWO quarterbacks!!!!
Also can't read defenses which is part of the reason it takes him forever to go through his progression. He doesn't know where the open part of the field will be so he has to look at each receiver and then throw the ball into the covered spot.

I agree with this. But he's going to have to do so prior to the season.

Fry is the equivalent of a Flat Earther. His mind is made up. No amount of evidence or logic will convince him otherwise. He will always mental gymnastics his way out of it.
Three years removed from Mariota playing well. 3/4 of his career has been average or below average. He hasn't finished the season 3 out of 4 times.

Who's the one in denial again?

maybe , I’m no expert but his receivers also have been known to often run wrong routes . I’ve seen examples of Mariota throwing dimes with anticipation and his release is super quick when he’s confident and in rhythm with his favorite targets . His own teammates would emphasize how it’s much better when he’s calling plays and running the offense. I guess we’ll see.

True but his circumstances been messed up.

As a player, I would have a lot more confidence if this guy were my QB
glad we got em , he’ll bring some humor and hold a nice clipboard for Mariota and if he gets his turn hopefully he lights it up . Just know Mariota is a super elite athlete who can play quarterback , if he’s on his game mentally (that’s if ) Tanny can’t hold his jock and I got love for Tannehill . We should all be practically praying that Mariota steps up , he could take us WAY further than Tannehill if he’s got it together like his 2nd year or better . I emphasize IF .

The issue is that Miami doesn't have Mike Evans, D Jax, Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, a good offensive line, or any of the other nice things he had when people had a favorable view of him. He'll be the bad Fitzpatrick most of the time, which is going to get him benched for the young guy
It’s funny , Miami seemed to have a bunch of burners when they beat us in game one . That team actually looked good.
