Are we seriously debating the fact that Luck is better than Mariota? Lol. I’m done......

All this arguing about playing through injuries.

Everything I read around week 17 told em that MM didn't play because of the risk of PERMANENT damage

Cracked vertebra = MM played through it

Broken rib = MM played through it

Sprained AC joint = MM played through it

Plantar fascia = MM played through it

Ulnar nerve = MM played through it

Rekt

The ulnar nerve issue in his throwing arm that started when he got stepped on opening day in Miami and left him with a tingly hand was the first big one. He missed two starts with that.

Tore his plantar fascia in week 16 and missed week 17....

Cracked vertebrae was also week one along with the tingles and he missed two starts then.

Mariota missed three starts and didn’t finish three games due to in-game injuries. Prove me wrong tell me a game he played through injury in with those injuries you listed above. Please

Other QB’s risk permanent damage all the time to play. You think played with a torn ACL doesn’t have a chance of permanent damage? Or a broken back? Or punctured lung and broken rib?

We legit have people in here acting like Mary is on Luck’s level....and I am not a big Luck fan, but damn.

Lot of Quarterbacks still play when doctors say not to. We just have a quarterback not willing to risk it. Soft Mariota sitting with tingles while QB’s have played through much worse injuries in less important scenarios. Here’s some examples for anyone who says mariota should not have played:

I'll humor you with a few of these to show tou the difference but I'm not going through all of them.

McNabb once played with a broken ankle against the Arizona Cardinals.

Reid also stated they thought it was a sprain. Did he play the next week? Or the week after?

Rivers once played with a blown ACL in the playoffs against the Patriots

The game where he went 19/37, 211 yards, 0 TDs and 2 ints and they put up 12 points?

I'm not sure that helps your argument.

Leftwich once played through a broken tibia.

They lost the game

Chris Simms- ruptured spleen

Another loss

Brett Favre- broken thumb

Brett Favre- broken ankle

Farve won with the broken thumb.

The broken ankle Farve went 5-8. 11 TDs and 19 INTs that year.

Yet 11-8 Mariota last season is getting reamed for worse stats.

Cant have it both ways.

Ben Roethlisberger- Broken nose and broken foot

Ben Roethlisberger- torn ligaments in shoulder and sprained ac joint

He performed well with the broken foot but like I said, i dont want to look up every one of these.

You seem to not understand what an ulner nerve injury is and that's ok. What's not ok is that tou dont seem to understand the difference between playing through pain and playing when the nerves in your body dont allow you to play well.

Heres a list

  • a loss of sensation in your hand, especially in your ring and little fingers.
  • a loss of coordination in your fingers.
  • a tingling or burning sensation in your hand.
  • pain.
  • hand weakness that may get worse with physical activity.
  • a loss of grip strength.

These guys may be here for nothing more than your entertainment but I an glad he chose not to go stink up the place and risk a permanent, lifelong injury just so some fans can thump their chest about how tough their QB is.

It would be stupid and he made the right choice.

if you are playing on a torn acl then it is only partially torn, and sometimes letting it tear fully actually makes it easier to repair. i still wouldnt do it, but unlikely it would be permanent damage.

no one should play with a broken back but there are varying degrees of "broken back", some are very much permanent

punctured lung... yeah ppl play through this, not permanent

people play through broken ribs ALL THE TIME, at all levels of the game. no permanent damage unless something really bad happens.

Could you imagine Marcus taking 600 attempts?! Lol. He’s probably still only have like 15 TD’s. It would take him 2 years to throw 600 times. Because he is an athlete, then QB whom is often injured.

Math isnt hard. He would have 22!!!

Do we? I just see Thaddeus being heavily sarcastic a couple pages back.

I haven't seen anyone say, or even imply, that they think MM is better than Luck. The only comparisons have been injuries, not skill.

Vondy, others basically brought in stats trying to act as though he is as good or better....Math ain’t hard, but he isn’t sniffing 22. He barely got that the last 2 years, and a guard and a few receivers isn’t changing that...He better really up his game and show us different, because we haven’t seen that Marcus in quite some time.

You’re right Vondy. Nobody would ever imply or fight on behalf of Marcus on here lol. Bottom line, Mary ain’t Luck, and he’s not gonna be anytime soon, because he isn’t as good of a quarterback. Plain and simple. As for he toughness debate, both have had their fair share of injuries, but Luck has dusted us and shown he can be elite and raise the play of average players around him.

Also, Rothlisberger should never be a comparison for playing hurt. He and QBs like McNair are on a different level when it comes to injuries.

He says, "I'm going to be honest. The ball looks better coming off Tannehill's arm. He looked better in practice today. He's going to continue to look better throughout OTAs and Training camp. People who covered him in Miami told me that he's a really good practice QB, and that's what we saw today".

Something along those lines in the video, though at two separate times. The reporter with him agreed. But he reiterates that MM is the starter.
“A really good practice QB”.........OMFG.....Holy sheet..
Practice? We talking about practice?
