Mariota is not playing loose at all. Playing like a man who is scared he is going to lose $40M. Hard to blame him- if he'd just throw the ball with anticipation, he'd loosen up- a LOT. Things would open up for all elements of the offense.
Mariota needs everything perfect. He will be an HOF all time great after he succeeds Brady in New England.

Haha- read in margin: "We shot ourselves in the foot over and over again- like in the other losses."

somebody replied: "Oh- THAT'S what happened to Santos' foot..."

yeah- I'm not so hot about the TD- it looked to me his foot had just barely crossed LOS when he released the ball. I'm not mad he tried, not mad at the call- just didn't work out. Hindsight he should have ran it but AJ Brown came up right at the LAST split second so Mariota went for it. Again- just not bothered by that.

I AM bothered by a lot of ticky tack holding calls, the roughing the passer on Casey, and the no call on the Mariota facemask. And it did seem weird that Allen cleared concussion protocol in less than full days. League just doesn't look good when so much goes one way in penalities and officiating.
Well said.Cant argue with that.

I’d be interested to know if there was more than one attempt to throw the ball downfield. I don’t get the mentality that you don’t make any effort to stretch the field.

It looked so much like Les Steckel was the friggin’ OC today.

I'm SO much with you on that. There is no reason not to take a 2 step drop and let it fly on an out route at least. So much in favor to protect WR's and a passer. And it's not like we DON'T have a couple of big WR's that can win a ball. More stupid coaching IMO.

Sure, we got hosed by the refs again. We do still suck though.

O-line, dropped passes, pre snap penalties, conservative play calls, coaching, defense always buckling in the 4th, kicking game, punt return game.

2-3 is fair - we’re mediocre again sadly.

Hate to disagree with valid points but the league doesn’t look bad at all. No one watches the titans (or really the bills for that matter) and there will be zero coverage on any of what you just brought up.
None of what went wrong here will ever really see the light of day outside of titans fans complaining.
If I remember correctly, titans have had 2-3 “whoops my bad” calls well after games have been decided.

This is a team that is terrified of making any mistakes. It's the mindset of the QB, the offensive coordinator, and the headcoach. Honestly, it looks like Mularkey's offense with the exception that Mularkey ran it better.

Same inconsistent Titans. Good news is we are on the road next week and should go back to .500 only to lose again the following week!

Nailed it.

Yup win a close one on the road @ Denver next.

Get pounded to LA after that (as they always do) o_O

Then I’m going to the Buccs game so according to the math, they will be due to win that one in a high-scoring shootout :beerbang:

Vrabel and Smith are atrocious coaches and have just succeded in making me not watch anymore titans games while they are still headcoaches. The titans do it every year, win the first game then limp to under 500 by the end. This organization is trash.
we havent been under 500 since '15

:reaction:

I’ll say it again, Keith Carter is a HORRIBLE offensive line coach. Also Vrabel doesn’t seem to know how to coach a team coming off a win. It’s been win and lose the next since he took over as coach.
