Yep I read that too, and got the same thing from his comments as you.And I saw an article today where Saffold admitted that he was having a problem with the scheme... also said a mobile QB which to me was his nice way of saying Mariota is to blame for some of the sacks, which he is.
If he was 3 for 4 then we win
Davis over the top of the CB is not a gimme. You’d want him to make it, but even for the best WRs that’s not an automatic.:shakehead:
5 dropped passes by the Titans.
- Davis' is 50/50 but 5th Pick needs to make it
- Four on 3rd down
- Three 3rd down drops would have converted for 1st Down
- Two 3rd down drops led to Santos missed FGs

Yep, and this is what so many of us mean by Mariota has to anticipate. He wants to wait until he sees a receiver open and then throw the ball. With the line we have, and the way the NFL works, he can't do that. He has to throw to where they are going and have faith that the receiver will do his job.Davis over the top of the CB is not a gimme. And as for 5, it’s crazy how long it takes from Walkers break to the ball arriving. This gives the defender time to interfere. Still catchable, but made unnecessarily difficult by a late throw.
The Davis one is on Mariota. He separated at the LOS and was running open for like 15 yards . Mariota should have hit him right when he broke free. Instead, he waited and lobbed a short duck to avoid the safety and sandwiched him between two defenders. He was staring at him the entire time, just hesitated.Davis over the top of the CB is not a gimme. You’d want him to make it, but even for the best WRs that’s not an automatic.
