Even if you don’t consider the off the field issues and the injury, how does he fit our scheme at all? He’s 300 pound DT. He’s not going to be able to play Nose, guess he’ll play DE? Hating this pick more and more. The last time we drafted a D lineman that didn’t fit our scheme was Dudd and we all know what happened there.

where to start.............

I don’t think you e watched him play. He can play NT head up or 1 tech. He can play 3 tech and 5 Tech. He played all over the DL and was good everywhere. Why? Because he’s a strong player who can stack double teams and is hard to move even when doubled. And when singled up, he can win with power or quickness! What’s not to like?

Gut is right here, you need to watch Simmons, he can do it all and can fit any scheme. The fact that he can play anywhere on the line though means he is especially valuable in our scheme. He can play nose, watch all the double teams he sucks up.

How big do you think an NT needs to be? Javon Hargrave weighs 305 and is a fine NT.

And Dudd was a bust because he did not give a crap and did not want to be in the NFL. he was also not drafted for DL, he was drafted for OLB.

Rookie contracts

Quinnen Williams $32.6 mil $21.5 mil bonus
Ed Oliver $19.7 mil. $12.5 mil bonus
Jeffery Simmons. $12.7 mil. $7.5 mil bonus

This will be important in two years when we are trying to retain all those players we want to keep.

No way they already have contracts negotiated and signed

So many people say it's a bad thing to draft a player with injuries. Unless you think you are close to being in contention (and the Titans are not quite there), then this move isn't hurtful. I recall the Jags doing the same thing a few years ago and when all their pieces were finally on the field healthy they rolled out a top 5 defense.

My point is no one knows how this plays out next year, but personally I like the pick. Been way to long sense this team had a All Pro stud in the middle. I like this move.

Just like I said in the hunt thread, dont really care about his off the field transgressions provided it does t prevent him from playing on the field and helping win the SB.
This particular incident seems pretty old on Simmons so I’m definitely not worried but I sure as hell would be cheering and supporting Bosa if he magically fell to the Titans.

Titans fans complain about not taking Myles Jack (and the risk his knees wouldn’t hold up) or Jaylon Smith because of his injury. Both regarded as top 10 talents in the draft that year.

Then they do it and they still complain lol

This x1000.

SECOND CHANCES EXIST FOR A REASON.

I did a little more digging and looks like he did a good amount of charity work in college and remained a leader on the field. Love a good redemption story so I hope he does turn out to be great for us and keeps doing good work off the field.

Getting a second chance is one thing... taking advantage of the opportunity is another.

He seems to have taken advantage.

The anger is understandable but sometimes people just screw up and do stupid things.

I hope the kid kills it and keeps his nose clean
