Hasn't done anything yet.

But he also hasn't been near as bad as I expected him to be. Even with the inconsistencies.

We'll see this year. I like him as a dude though.
Hes been very good since last December

Going to end up being your favorite player

most importantly- I don't think he wants to work on them. I think he's conceded defeat so he's just going through the motions til he goes to another team.

He doesn't seem to have any heart. Can't fix that.

And even if you could, I doubt he would. See: his footwork and unwillingness to put time in the film room.
lol what

With MM heading into Free agency are the Titans going to break the bank and pay him for 5 more years? At this point I may be jumping off the Mariota train.

Hopefully the 2020 QB Draft Class is deep.

Unless Mariota plays 15 games and goes bonkers for most of them, how can the Titans pay him to stick around for 5+ more years?!

But this ‘is’ the Titans so who knows ...

Yeah, I think most of us "haters" want Flota to be great. That's what would be best for the organization. But the fact is we have 4 years of evidence that he's not. Sure he's had his moments. But sadly "inconsistent" and "unreliable" are the defining adjectives of his career thus far.

Yeah he's better than VY and Locker. Big freaking whoop. He still hasn't been anywhere near what I consider to be "franchise QB" level. People wanna pay this dude 100+ mill? The guy who has been injured nonstop and threw 11 total TDs last year. No thanks.
Absolutely. Sinking 30 mil per year into that? No way.

I don't think there is a person here who literally wants to see Mary fail.
Wanting him to fail and expecting him to fail are two very different things.

From the looks of the poll, there are two groups of people; one group that has given up on him and one group that hasn't.

Can anyone honestly blame someone for giving up on the guy at this point? He's constantly injured. 3 out of his 4 years have been average or bad. He's trending in the wrong direction the last 2 years.

Even if he does stay healthy and play well this season, is that enough to extend him? Not in my book. Franchise him and make him do it two years in a row.

If they give him an extension it will be the most titans thing to ever titans. If he goes nuts this year, make him prove it on a franchise tag year. Then extend him if he repeats it.

It'd be worse than giving Michael Griffin a long-term deal as a reward for not holding out.

So you like this team. And you invest way too much time in it. And you probably invest way too much money in it.

And there is this player that is crucial to the teams success. The season and foreseeable seasons ride on his shoulders. And by all accounts, he is a great dude. No one has ever said anything bad about him as a person.

I can't comprehend how anyone wouldn't be cheering hard for him to do well.
I dont fall into this category, but people can also root for him to fail because we get a replacement faster (possibly).
Right now that’s only Tannehill, so I’m not sure how much rooting anyone should be doing for that scenario.

If he's on pace for 20 TDs after what we've invested in the players around him, he'll be benched.

Just so people know, we have a QB on the team who has thrown for over 4,000 yards and 27 TDs in a season. Why extend or play a lesser QB?
Bet.
Mariota doesn’t get benched without injury.

That does bring up the point of market value.
Say he plays marginal again or gets hurt again, I don’t think he’d be able to get $30 mil anywhere.

Is he ousted from the league?
Or more realistic, signed as a backup somewhere for much cheaper?
The possibility of him staying then still seems like a real long shot.

Bet.
Mariota doesn’t get benched without injury.

Bet he does.

Boo-birds will be the end of him.

That's the problem with having a backup that is as good and potentially better. Fans will waste no time turning on the starter- no matter how "good of a guy" he is.

Won’t happen. He’s not getting benched without injury.
Has nothing to do with being a “good” guy.
Fans also won’t boo if the team wins, so the D and Henry still have the opportunity to bail him out.

Dude threw 11 TDs last year yet was still the “preferred” QB at seasons end. Did anyone that was at the games remember hearing any Boos for Mariota?
