A healthy Mariota didn’t last long.

Even though Tanny isn’t a long term answer either, he can’t stay healthy either. But I wouldn’t mind seeing what he can do out there.

Can’t be any worse than pusswinkle. A healthy Tanny is better, more consistently than a healthy MM8.

At least Tannehill has had 4 seasons where he played all 16 games and three of those were 4K yard range with 24-27 TD. Mariota has had exactly no full 16 game seasons.

Ok we can disagree. It’s only 4 and 2 if the 3rd down didn’t convert. And then we’re still in the SAME boat with a must make 2 yards. But we had 2 chances with NO impact on the number of additional plays we could’ve run. 4th and 2 w/ 10 seconds gives you the SAME opportunities as 4 and 2 with 16 seconds left but you’ve had 2 chances to keep the drive alive. We obviously needed the two tries to keep the drive alive.
And like the analyst kept saying, you already know what defense they are in, so not only do you get 2 plays instead of 1, you have an advantage in the playcall.

I’ve been one of the biggest Mariota supporters on here, I pointed to his clutch wins. I’ve kept hoping and believing he was just having a string of bad luck like Matt Stafford and if he could just stay healthy, he would be our guy.

I loved the stiff arm against the Hags to get us into the playoffs, the pass to himself and catch against the Chiefs in the PO.

He’s a likable guy, I really wanted and want him to be the guy. But this is his 5th season in a contract year and so far after two games he has shown absolutely nothing to make me think the bulb is finally going to go off.

The boneheaded spike at the end of the game on 3rd and 2 instead of running a quick play to pick up the first was inexcusable. Who knows, maybe he’ll go on a tear the next 14 games and takes us deep into the playoffs, but at this point I seriously doubt it.

Smoke screen to the max. A way to give Tannehill a chance in a big early season game. "Quad injury" and short week.

Probably a way to bring tanny in faster if Mary comes out sucking. “His quad wasn’t right he wasn’t as effective blah blah ride the hot hand in tanny who got us a 30 point win”

Yep. They did the exact same thing last year vs. the Jags to give Gabbart a chance. That worked out perfectly.

I'm as disappointed in his play against the colts as the next guy but this is really a non-story until he misses some actual practice time.

This is working out to plan. Miami just acquired another 1st round pick. By April, they will have every 1st round pick except ours. They will pull a classic Miami and draft Herbert. We, having the only 1st round pick not belonging to Miami, will pick Tua at #20. Super Bowls for years!

I would take, Tua, Frohm, Hurts and I wish Lawrence but that would be 2021

Perhaps not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. But I definitely wouldn't call it a "non story". What was the #1 thing we all said the dude had to prove this season? That he could stay healthy. And he's already showing up on the injury report before week 2 even concluded. Likely not a big deal but still not exactly a great sign.
