There is no logic in that scenario. You WASTE A DOWN clocking it on 3rd down and 2 yards with 16 seconds left. Even Mariota says it was the wrong decision. You’re the one having a problem understanding that what you’re promoting is the WRONG choice in clock management in that scenario. It simply is not the best choice. The best choice is to use the down to get 3 or more yards in 3-5 seconds.
 
Better let Marcus take it easy. We wouldn't want him to get a hangnail and be out for the rest of the year.
 
Would be a blessing if he sat out with a hangnail. Dude is in a contract year and still playing like ass...We know what he is, 8-8/9-7 at best. I’d rather die on my feet than keep living on my knees.

im not promoting it or saying it was the right choice, im saying it was not worst case scenario, 4th and 2 with 10 seconds left would've been worse

I agree QB needs to be address but you are prisoner of the moment if you think a full rebuild needs to happen. That’s just beyond dumb.

Ok we can disagree. It’s only 4 and 2 if the 3rd down didn’t convert. And then we’re still in the SAME boat with a must make 2 yards. But we had 2 chances with NO impact on the number of additional plays we could’ve run. 4th and 2 w/ 10 seconds gives you the SAME opportunities as 4 and 2 with 16 seconds left but you’ve had 2 chances to keep the drive alive. We obviously needed the two tries to keep the drive alive.

Did you even read the post you quoted? I clearly said "I am certainly not suggesting a full rebuild".
 
Want to analyze some statistical data? 6 seconds our quarterback held the ball before taking another critical sack. Count out six seconds .... one mississippi .... two mississippi. . . . . Any good quarterback will throw, go, or get rid of it . Not Marcus. Missing throws, making poor decisions, and being unable to hit the open man is his m.o.

Steve Mc Nare never had a perfect scenerio where everyone was healthy, he felt great, and the game plan was perfect. He made the difference, he made it happen, we were never out of the game because we all believed in him. Marcus not so much. Calculate that.
