We didnt run many play actions yesterday.Every time you post this you just continue to show that you have no idea what the concept of play action passing is.

Contract talks? I'm all in for a high end backup QB contract. My thread can also be used to discuss how we can build this team to make Mary more successful here. Also maybe contract talks. Really though it's about being realistic as fans. You have to not get your emotions involved.
Since the game ended it really helped me to just chill and look at the numbers. Usually I never do this but today felt different. Could I be missing something? Kind obvious that I and many others were. Soon win the wins happen it will get easier to see Mary is our guy.
Again, I'm sorry. Seriously love this team. Sucks that we have had so much negativity.
Exactly this. On a twitter page yesterday they had all 4 sacks videos. Mariota did the exact wrong thing in each sack. All olines are going to collapse in pass protection at some point. You take your 3 step drop back and pass the ball. Mariota takes his 3 steps, bounces around some, then runs right into a defender. The O-line has major issues especially in the middle.
However Mariota does nothing to help out.
How he moves in the pocket and how he scrambleds is horrible any small error our Oline makes and is a sack.
Jacoby Brissett yesterday was able to get away from atleast 5 sacks yesterday Mariota brings non of that to the table.
He was let go bc the Dolphins are tanking and he would win more games than Fitzpatrick/Rosen...It’d be different if Tannehill was a rook but he isn’t . He was let go for a reason . Sure he’s a solid back up but it’s more of an emphasis to the organization to truly give Marcus a shot . At this point he’s 1-1 with 4 TD’s and 0 picks . This last game was sucky but he deserves a chance to turn it around. Me as a fan , if he bombs vs. Jags I wouldn’t mind trying Tannehill but the organization is playing this a bit more carefully , they have to.
Yep, they are tanking to get that number 1 pick so they can get a franchise qb. Neither of them will be their qb of the future. He was let go bc the Dolphins are tanking and he would win more games than Fitzpatrick/Rosen...
That's with the presumption the 3rd down play works out, my only point is if it didn't work out, we would've been in a worst situation time wise then we were with him spiking the ball on 3rd.Not really. Even Mariota admits its was a bonehead play. Why waste a play? Should called a hitch, quick out or just ran for the sideline would have left 11 seconds and time for one more quick out to pick up another 5-15 yards.
And like I said- it wasn’t the ONLY bad play. That one was just really bad for a 5th year QB.
Will NoMariota have a similar chat feature? Sign me up for username 24and23.Yay, ANOTHER Mariota thread.
Should just start a forum or change the name of this one .. "NoMariota.com"

Supports what was being discussed on the radio this morning that Mariota was injured during the game.Mariota listed on the injury report

I realize all of that, but 4th and 2 with 16 seconds left, leaves enough time to make a pass in the middle of field and get a spike off with a couple seconds left. We run a play 3rd and dont covert we're in 4th and 2 with 10-11 seconds left and our only choice would be to throw to sideline. It's bad either way, but the spike at least gave us the option of using middle of field. No it’s an incomplete pass same as clocking the ball except you gave yourself a chance to get a few more yards. Or you can’t make it to the sidelines and can’t throw it away (not happening). It was dumb and even Mariota admits it.

i give up, all im saying is 4th and 2 16 sec left>4th and 2 10 sec left, if you dont see the logic in that i dont know what else to say.The spike lost us an opportunity to get more yards. We’re talking about 3-5 seconds. There were only going to be 3 downs maximum including the kick with 16 seconds left. Spiking the ball- you MUST convert on the 4th down. We didn’t. You try on 3rd down instead of spiking, you have 10-12 seconds left if you convert- you’ve a TON of field that is in play. If you DON’T convert, you have another down 3-5 seconds to get 3 or more yards with 7-10 seccond left. And still likely have another play to advance another 5-10 yards.
The only thing that was achieved with spiking the ball was wasting the down. Even Mariota says it was a bad decision. He’s taking a lot of heat for that decision because 5th year QB’s shouldn’t be making that sort of bonehead play.
