I'm almost certain this entire thread by XO is some combination of a sarcastic troll job and or a lost bet.

You have to realize that I've been looking at this the wrong way which many have tbh. Suck to admit when you're wrong but I was. Man we just should be more realistic as fans. Asses can ruin this board with their negative attitudes and I just don't want to be a part of that anymore.

I'm glad you've managed to find peace in the suckage. Must be nice.

Titans fans on social media blaming everything but Marcus is insane, beyond creditworthy. I know i should expect nothing less but damn. I feel like this will be a lot of people soon, or that its already happening

Maybe it is because football is a complex game. You are a fan and you should know that. Are you not familiar with the idea that there is no "I" in team? A complete team is needed to win games. Dùmbass takes are common after tough loses.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
ig·no·rant

adjective
  1. lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated.
Nope, pretty much nails my thoughts...exactly.

From nfl.com Mariota draft scouting report. We saw all of these issues on display yesterday.

Weaknesses

Benefits from an offense that is predicated on simplified reads. Offense able to create wide-open receivers after busted coverages at times. Needs to improve resetting feet when maneuvering pocket to improve accuracy and power. Tends to "see" pass rush too often. Will drop eyes and look to escape pocket rather than stepping to available pocket space. Frequent trips outside pocket increase opportunity for injury. Pocket feel is very average. Stepped into sacks he had no business taking. Didn't have to throw to tight windows often. Average processor on field. Still learning when to get rid of the ball and move to next play. Slow to make anticipatory throws and can improve patience in allowing combo routes to mature rather than rushing the read. Missed obvious pre-snap blitzes. Drive accuracy needs work. When cutting it loose, ball tends to sail on him a bit. Arm strength is adequate but inconsistent to field side. Needs to bring hips through throws to increase zip into tight windows in NFL. Fumbled 27 times during his career.

You realize you're part of the fanbase right?

We'll use this thread to discuss all "tings" Mariota's play this season. Any new threads on Mariota will be merged into this one.

Do be mindful of the rules of this forum. Violations will lead to an automatic 7-day thread ban and a 3-point warning.

He is David Carr... that's what a consistently bad Oline will do to a QB. Now he's unwilling to trust it and it shows...

Speculation he reinjured himself yesterday...

As a result, he's getting rid of the ball faster than anyone should and before he, or anyone else, is ready for it...

His career won't be here after this season.

Absolutely. All the issues he has had since college. No improvement on all the problems he needed to improve upon to be an NFL starting qb.

No pocket awareness. Can't read defenses. Cant pick up the blitz. Cant adjust to routes. Inaccurate. Inconsistent. etc. etc.

Just amazing that there are still people so lost that they think he is a good qb.

So I would like to say that I am wrong about Marcus Mariota. Usually I overreact and today when I calmed down I took an unbiased look at his stats through two games and realized that maybe he isn't the issue.

Can you take a moment to look at Mariota's stats through 2 games: 402 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs, 63.5% completion percentage, 112.5 rating

Kicking myself. My goodness I'm stunned. You have to be able to look at these things without emotions. Did I miss this? I and others like @SawdustMan and @8and8 are so completely wrong about everything Mariota related.

Can I use this thread to have an unbiased look at Mariota's numbers each week as we move through the season and towards an eventual decision about his future in Tennessee.

Kindly do not flame my thread or post childish memes. Very true also can everyone here please stop and give a little bit of credit to @VondyP and @Thaddeus43 for being some of the only people not just completely overreacting. On top of that. Next @ICBW who was just a breath of fresh air after the game today with his reasonable and realistic takes on Mariota and this team. Don't give up on the haters though.

You all, I hope you all have a great night and I can't wait until Thursday when we will destroy the tarp kittens! Please!

TLDR. Assume its whining about something

Here's the thing for me...

Mariota lacks the awareness needed to be a franchise QB. He'll flash potential but wastes too many plays each game with poor decisions a 5th-year QB should be past. Poor reads. Locking on his target. Inconsistent accuracy due to poor mechanics.

By year five, franchise QBs have all the above behind them. He should be honing his game.—getting better in reading defenses and looking off DBs with his eyes.

At this point, I think he's lost confidence. Let's hope he can find some answers but I don't have much faith he will. And I think he'll play well enough to keep the starting job barring an injury.

If he stays healthy, he's going to have 3-4 solids games. 3-4 stinkers and the rest mediocre game the Titans might win if the running game/defense overshadows his play.

Wait so after one close loss to a division opponent we have people saying we should sell the team for picks and rebuild??

Some people are such prisoners of the moment on here.

I've been watching some of the young QBs in the league. Mariota looks like he has absolutely no talent in his body. Things are set up for mobile QBs to be tough to defend, but he has no idea what he's doing.

It's probably the same nonsense and inconsistency this team continues to put out on the field every other week that has fans so frustrated. I have zero confidence this team and coaching staff can string together several wins. As much as I despise Reich, he so outcoached Vrabel yesterday, that last drive was an utter embarrassment top to bottom.

Yes I understand where the frustration is coming from but if you look at things objectively it's just irrational to have that thought in Week 2.

Being consistent in the NFL is one of the hardest things to do in football. That's why good teams fade every year. That's why it's incredibly hard to do what the Pats are doing.

Think about it like this. If you had a job and you got one day a week to go show that you can do your job how consistent would you be? One day. It doesn't matter what profession you are in - everyone is going to have off days. God forbid that it happens on the ONE day that these guys get to show their skills.

Now don't get me wrong Vrabel was really bad yesterday. This was easily his worst coached game of his short time here. Let's see how he responds.

FFS the Patriots lost to the Jaguars in week 2 last year and then followed that up with a loss to the Lions. They went on to win the super bowl as we all know. This kinda stuff happens to every team, every year. Its how you respond that tells you the type of team you have.

The Titans are stuck in neutral. NFL teams usually progress and make improvements or they regress each year. Even if they respond Thursday, then suck the following week. It's the same inconsistency over and over that's starting to wear thin.

I think it’s too early to forfeit the rest of the season but it’s not too early to call it a career for Mariota. Tannehill would have won that game yesterday, no doubt.

On top of still being so inaccurate, Marcus holds on to the ball too long and is OBLIVIOUS to the pressure coming his way. My biggest knock on him was on full display. 3rd down comes around and instead of doing whatever it takes to get the 1st down he wilts and nonchalantly heads for the sidelines. He’s not mad he’s not disappointed he’s not even the slightest bit upset. F*** that! Yeah he’s a nice guy and says all the pc things but dude just doesn’t have any killer instinct. I’m over him, bring on #17!
