He legit probably isn't a better option than Matt Moore at this point considering he'd have to learn the offense and everything. I think anyone trading for Mariota is a pipe dream.
Benching Mariota was the right move but I think he's better than Moore

So I would like to say that I am wrong about Marcus Mariota. Usually I overreact and today when I calmed down I took an unbiased look at his stats through two games and realized that maybe he isn't the issue.

Can you take a moment to look at Mariota's stats through 2 games: 402 yards, 4 TDs, 0 INTs, 63.5% completion percentage, 112.5 rating

Kicking myself. My goodness I'm stunned. You have to be able to look at these things without emotions. Did I miss this? I and others like @SawdustMan and @8and8 are so completely wrong about everything Mariota related.

Can I use this thread to have an unbiased look at Mariota's numbers each week as we move through the season and towards an eventual decision about his future in Tennessee.

Kindly do not flame my thread or post childish memes. Very true also can everyone here please stop and give a little bit of credit to @VondyP and @Thaddeus43 for being some of the only people not just completely overreacting. On top of that. Next @ICBW who was just a breath of fresh air after the game today with his reasonable and realistic takes on Mariota and this team. Don't give up on the haters though.

You all, I hope you all have a great night and I can't wait until Thursday when we will destroy the tarp kittens! Please!
Xo

Is the game over?

What kind of trade value do you think that he actually has? We'd had to package a pick with him.
Maybe a 5/6?

I don’t really think KC wants him but if any team is willing to give anything for him, JRob should take it.

You seen his cap hit? I don't see anyone taking that on for a QB who struggles with screen passes.
I don’t think anyone pays attention to Tennessee. I think a QB needy team (basically working with a backup) may have some interest which would probably include Tennessee paying off some of that contract.

As I said, I think a best case would be about a 5th tops.
As mentioned maybe KC, maybe Pittsburgh who knows, maybe that Kenyon Drake trade offer has some truth and we give up MM in a deal where we get the short end.
Any offer should be highly considered.

So the teams game planning against us pay no attention to him? Every single team in the league knows everything there is to know about Mariota.

I think you’re underselling some of the potential that a suitor may see especially if put in “their” system. Mariota has shown flashes which may be enough for a team to spring on for a temporary QB (Matt Moore for ex).

I think when other teams pay attention to us, they see all the other issues as well (OL, OC, etc)
A 5th is not high value. I’m suggesting that’s about the best we could get AND still have to pay at least part of his contract.
All that said, I would absolutely take just about any offer thrown our way.

There is an annual QB "tier" ranking released each year in which 55 executives and coaches are asked to provide input on all starting QBs. So basically, the entire league is covered. And it was general consensus that Marcus was a third tier QB, meaning the team would be alright with a good run game and defense, and would struggle if they required more from the QB position. 1 individual thought that he was better than that, a few thought that he was even worse. That doesn't sound like a player that other teams value enough to pay a pick for, in addition to a significant salary.
