Abc contradicting his own arguemnents. Says the line last year was good and not the issue. Then I said, it was bad hence this offseason we got 2 free agents and drafted a guy. He agrees and says yeah we clearly wanted better athletes. Yet he's still saying the line is or was not an issue?
I think this just reached an argument of which QB is worse due to Which team had the worse OL. Strange argument but I think Miami had the worse OL and Mariota accepts more sacks despite the OL struggles than T-Hill but not to dismiss the titans OL as needing upgrades.

(By the way, happy with the upgrades)

Not sure who this is an inditement on.
Both OL have seen better days and Mariota can’t surpass RT’s single season sack records because he can’t stay healthy enough to play an entire season.

That same problem also saves RT from having 4th season with 42+ sacks

He had 35 his last season and missed 5 games due to injury

And you're saying that our OL play has been as bad as this? If it was, I could excuse all of the sacks. But Mariota has trouble evading just one rusher and making a play
lmaooooooooo another one of your favorite arguments debunked

laughed out loud when i read @Alzarius' post

lololololol

but plz tell me more about tanne's miracle 2016 season where he played worse than mary though...

or maybe we can hype up drew efffing lock again... lol

I mentioned one statistic, smart guy. His superior passing rating from a clean pocket. Which means that we may actually get some consistency instead of Mariota's scattershot sideline accuracy

Not for that scheme. Clearly wanted to go with better athletes .

Huh?

Quinton Spain
6'4/332lbs
5.03 40yd/29"vert/103"broad/28repBench

Saffold
6'4/316lbs
5.21 40yd/29.5"vert/113"broad/27repsBench/4.67SS/7.42 3cone

Josh Kline
6'2/307lbs
5.12 40yd/27"vert/101"broad/25repsBench/4.59SS/7.66 3cone

Nate Davis
6'3/316lbs
5.23 40yd/26"vert/107"broad/23repsBench/4.83SS/7.94 3 cone

So let's compare Spain to Saffold...
So let's see if the FACTS bear out your claim. Spain is MUCH faster in the 40, vert is about same, loses badly in broad jump. If anything, I'd say Spain might be the better athlete but let's be conservative and say it's a wash.

Now let's compare Kline to Davis?
Kline is faster, has a little better vert, lesser broad, is stronger and has MUCH better short shuttle and 3 cone numbers. Clearly, Kline is the better athlete!

Clearly, the Titans wanted better PLAYERS...not better athletes!!!

This is how you deal with interior pressure

One time? Does he do that all the time? No. Most of the time in that situation he gets sacked like everyone else. But the defender also just pushed him instead of grabbing him.

And there are a lot more people than this guy thinks that can make that throw on planet earth. At least half the qb's in the NFL can and a lot more outside the NFL who have the arm strength but not anything else.

Check out some youtube vids of guys throwing farther than that from their knees. One clip of Mahomes supposedly throwing it 100yds but you can't see where it lands so its probably more likely in the 70's or so.

Sometimes it has been. But some of those sacks are also Tannehill being shellshocked and just falling on the ground. When did he stand there and deliver a strike while taking a shot? Some of those sacks weren't even blitzes but a 4 man rush and he couldn't evade a single defender who worked free....same criticism you have for Mariota.

But Tannehill can? Lol he’s been injury prone too

ABC getting wrecked all over again in this thread.

Just admit you were wrong and walk away lol but some posters would rather die on the hill I guess.

I really don't care about underwear Olympics for linemen. Those numbers suggest that Spain wipes the floor with many great LTs athletically speaking, which you know isn't true when you consider they are mirroring the movement of some of the most elite athletes in the league, and Spain was a late, cheap signing for a team desperately needing OL help.

If you're just looking at combine numbers, the Jayon Brown and Rashaan Evans are average to below average athletes.

Here, you contradict yourself and still don't see the point...which I also made FOR YOU!

First of all, Spain is not an elite LT athletically so I don't know what you mean when you say Spain "wipes the floor with many great LT's."

He doesn't. He doesn't have the speed or change of direction or short shuttle ability.

But as you rightly point out...you don't care how they do in the underwear Olympics. Then why are you saying we needed better athletes on the OL when we just got worse ones?

The ONLY conclusion is we needed better PLAYERS because the interior OL played very poorly!!!

When you manage a team, you have to fix and upgrade the parts that don't work. JRob is thankfully doing that!

So you are telling me that Kline and Spain are better athletes than this LG:

There's a reason that those two looked so bad when we switched to a blocking scheme which required better athletes

So now You're taking the side of someone commending the athleticism of Spain and Kline. Make up your mind.
You are the one who brought up athleticism, and he gave you the actual numbers. Sorry your argument sucks. Next time don't talk out your azz so much.

He gave me underwear Olympic numbers, which has absolutely nothing to do with the athleticism that a OL needs in order to perform. Those two clowns are stiffs compared to Davis and Saffold, and struggled when required to play in space in the zone blocking scheme (aka , being athletic). This argument is a joke

I wish we had replaced Jones as well. Maybe he'll play better with two non corpses beside him.
Me too, was hoping for Bradbury but the Vikings snagged him. After him being gone, I'm fine with grabbing Simmons, could turn into fantastic value. Wanted IOL in the second, but from everything I've seen, Brown could turn into a big steal. Davis should at least be serviceable, but that still leaves Jones on the field which I wanted to avoid.

Curious, does anyone know much about the C we signed who played with Mariota at Oregon? Maybe they think he could take over for Jones?I know he hasn't been great since being drafted.
