That's kind of the point. A starting QB shouldn't miss routine throws against air, which is essentially the situation that they are in now. You definitely can make a comparison between the two in the scenario

Are you mentally ill?

I know you don't want to hear it, but it's unanimous that Tannehill looked better, from all sources who would make such a claim . From Davenport's tone, it really wasn't that close and he doesn't expect that to change at any point during this off-season. Kind of what I've been saying all along.
first practice of OTAs, literally just running routes in shorts...

abc: "its unanimous that tannehill is better and it's not expected to change"

do you re-read your posts before you hit submit? lmao

1st day of OTA’s , some of you hate on Mariota so hard . I don’t get it . He actually won us a playoff game . Our franchise has been mediocre forever , not just Marcus. Why do you hate this guy so much ?

I was clear in my post. Some men mean what they say.

To think they brought in Tanny to start over Mariota is EXACTLY what Vrabel said they didn’t do. Exactly.

Don’t know why that’s hard when he was so clear. Marcus has led us to consecutive winning seasons. Vrabel isn’t a fickle fan like some of yous

I don't believe tannehill was brought in to start. But he damn sure was brought in to compete. And I do believe there is a scenario in which he wins that competition.

nope. he's said it over and over. unless mary is injured in camp and cant play week 1, he's the starter. write it down.

If he chooses to start the loser of a competition, he is a bad coach. I don't think he is a bad coach.
And btw, I would expect Mariota to win anyway.

there would have to be a competition for him to lose it

and yeah he'd have to be DREW LOCK levels of innacurate to possibly lose his job in shorts

Turron Davenport has seen enough of Mariota to know who he is. He also has plenty of connections with the media, including in Miami. They gave him an impression of what Tannehill looks like in practice, and what he saw in person matches that impression. And that's better than what he's seen from Mariota. No reason to expect for that to change, unless he hits a pretty unexpected level of improvement

you are so blinded by hate it's kind of impressive at this point

He's the backup. When backups get opportunities they get re-evaluated. That's different than saying that there is a QB competition. Which you're trying to insinuate without insinuating.

You think they told Tanny he was coming in to compete for the starting gig and lied to Mariota?

The hate runs deep. He's insurance. Marcus is who Vrabel and Amy Adams and the team has backed as their QB heading into the season. ANY NFL QB who plays poorly can be benched. Mariota is our starting QB this year.

Show those links liar bot

I gave you the guy's name. You could have found this yourself.

Just for that, I won't tell you when he mention it. Or maybe he doesn't mention it at all, and I'm wasting 20 minutes of your life for being a mean jerk.

I followed him yesterday on Twitter and quote it liar bot. Why should anybody believe a lying shill hater who just posts nonsense all day

He says, "I'm going to be honest. The ball looks better coming off Tannehill's arm. He looked better in practice today. He's going to continue to look better throughout OTAs and Training camp. People who covered him in Miami told me that he's a really good practice QB, and that's what we saw today".

Something along those lines in the video, though at two separate times. The reporter with him agreed. But he reiterates that MM is the starter.

If telling the truth is being hateful then I guess we're being hateful.

Marcus Mariota is a mediocre quarterback that can't stay healthy. That's not the kind of guy you build around for a decade.

Stage 9 denial here

Per TD:
A few takeaways from Titans OTAs:

1. Delanie Walker was very fluid out of breaks and didn't show signs of being slowed down from his ankle injury. That's promising. Walker says he's about 85 percent right now.

2. Ryan Tannehill looked sharp today.(especially on a deep pass to Cam Batson) Mike Vrabel went out of his way to say it's not a QB competition. Marcus Mariota welcomes a veteran to the QB room. He made a couple of good throws also.

3. Corey Davis is welcoming the mentor role for A.J. Brown. They were in constant communication after reps and stayed after practice to work together.

4. UDFA Derek Roberson is a player to watch. He looked comfortable as a stand up edge defender and did a nice job condensing his body as he came off the edge.

5. Tajae Sharpe and Taywan Taylor both looked good running routes. Sharpe showed good footwork during individual drills. Taylor caught a comeback vs. Malcom Butler. Ran a good route. Don't count either of them out.
