Titans signed Tannehill to a 1 yr 7mil fully guaranteed deal after the trade. Could be worth up to 12 mil with incentives.
 
Now WHEN Mariota goes down with an injury, it’s not a 90% chance of losing the game.
 
Tannehill seems like one of the better backup options in the league at this point / something the Titans always seem to be searching for.

But let’s just call it as it is. MM and Carr are in the same boat. This maybe their last chance from being those “good guy leaders with upside” to middling backups for their careers ... put up or shut up time for both MM and Carr who have had eerily similar paths thus far.
 
I feel like JRob has (at least on paper) NAILED this offseason so far.

Cut Kline - check
Back up QB - check (for minimal capital too)

It’s MM job to lose. He now has someone who has started majority of their career challenging him.If u don’t think tannehill isn’t going to try and work himself into a starting role would be silly. I think MM is the starter too but I could easily see MM going down once again and tannehill stepping in and won’t be as fast to take out when MM gets healthy.
 
Wow, this is great news. JR just getting shit done! Not all those posters who are saying none of his FA signings matter unless he upgrades QB2 can stfu.

Part of it is motivation to push Mariota. He's been better with a fire lit under him at the end of games. Now he'll be feeling it every play.
 
Mariota needs to start training with The Rock asap and pack 20 pounds of muscle on if he wants to stay on the field. Screw this Mr. Glass bulls***.
 
If we had a tannehill level backup last year we would've probably made the playoffs. Hard not to like this move regardless of which side you take with mariota. Sign Justin Houston and this off-season is a dream come true

Add Wake to that list as well. Absolutely solid FA, and we still have our important picks heading into the draft that is loaded at positions we need quality guys for. Shaping up to be a fantastic offseason.
 
love it, push mm8 and he's an excellent option as backup. this is exactly who i wanted for backup this offseason.
