Pitt is not losing both games. They may very well win both
Misunderstood your post then. it’s difficult to tell whether you are speaking you’re opinion or incorrectly stating a fact.

I agree the likelihood of pit losing both is not high but they are also known for dropping some strange games, specifically like the Jets, and Baltimore is a tough game even if they do sit some players.

How is it not meaningless?
If Pitt loses both games and Indy wins out, then a Titans win against NO and a loss to Texans still gets us in.

If in that same scenario except that we lose to NO then we missed out on wildcard.

We need 2 win out 2 have a chance at the wc if the texans win

That's not true... If Pitt loses one game and we beat the Texans we will get in.

OK, I see. That scenario seems improbable enough that I would rest the starters against the Saints if the Texans win. I think the rest is more valuable than banking on that situation.

Your right sorry I misread the possibilities.

The 8-8 scenarios are still not great for Tennessee.

Cleveland and Oakland are not officially eliminated yet should there be a 4/5 way tie at 8-8.

Even though we hold a direct tie breaker over both, in a 4/5 way tie, they go over us.

A NO win also eliminates them.

So a win tomorrow eliminates 3 teams who can go in over and us and people think it doesn’t matter.

Indy can’t get in but they are the team that eliminates us in all the 8-8 tiebreaker scenarios.

Cle and oak could actually get in.

yep, a bunch of “sports fans” here claiming NO game doesnt matter. with jets and colts winning now, even some of the less saavy fans might see why this game has possible HUGE implications.

A win by the Colts at Jax, a loss at Texans, and a win by Ravens (all very possible) means this NO game is for a playoff berth.

Don't know what I'm missing here. If the Stoolers and Titans both win their game next week both teams will finish 9-7. Since they lost to 2 AFC teams down the stretch, we win tie break over them. So who else is a threat? Only the Raiders would win tie break over us at 8-8. And we would obviously have to lose to the Texans in order for that to happen. If we beat Houston it does not matter what the Stoolers or the Raiders do. Help me understand if I am wrong.

I think the Titans can lose against the Texans and still make it into the playoffs if both the Steelers and Colts lose next week. (Colts vs. Jags) (Steelers vs. Ravens).

If I'm wrong, plz correct.

You are probably correct on that. But I'm getting really tired of this announcer who kept repeating that the Stoolers losing their final game was one scenario that needs to happen in order for the Titans to make it in. Far as I can tell the Stooler's only chance is if we lose to the Texans.

y’all are both correct. win at Texans and we’re in. lose and we’re in if Pitt AND Indy both lose.

Had we won today, Indy would not
have been a factor and a Pitt loss at Ravens next week would automatically get us in. THATS why N.O. game meant something.

those who were acting like an Indy win and Jets
win today were so improbable or not worth discussing really didnt get it.

A loss today cost us a great path to a playoff that we now dont have,

2 scenarios left for the titans to get in:

1. Win. Beat the Texans and in. Tie breaker between us and Pitt goes to SOV, we win.

2. Lose with a necessary Pit and Ind loss.
At 8-8, Indy is the team that puts us out but wouldn’t get in themselves.

Cle loss today eliminated them.
Raiders win over LAC and they’re alive if all 4 teams end 8-8, raiders get the tiebreaker WC spot.

I've been hurt so many times. I have battered girlfriend syndrome. Every time I come back I have to tell myself it'll be different this time.
We're 0-2 since I bought in.

Now you understand why I am the way I am.
