My point is that JRob said that he left Mularkey go because this is a playoff team and we needed to get more out of them. Vrabel hasn’t done that and he technically was not an upgrade.
Last years team despite mariNOta was waaaaay better than mularkey titans. Playoffs or not. We played like half a dozen back up qbs that year and barely beat em. Last year we were playing at a high level.

And now we're back to playing backup qbs... And getting our poop pushed in by them.

JRob's first round picks:
  1. Jeffery Simmons
  2. Rashan Evans
  3. Corey Davis
  4. Adoree Jackson
  5. Jack Conklin

Thanks Mariota. 5 years in getting dusted by his division rivals with backups. It’s actually laughable. That alone should force him to the bench.

Way too early for this kind of talk
It' 5 years too late actually. What do you think? They still have a Chace to be a contender this year? It's over. Sports is entertainment. The Titans are not a chosen team. Never will be.. just like 16 other teams in the league.

16?

The bottom 16. The least important. The weekly comedic foils to the teams chosen by the nfl to succeed.
So you’re saying that 17 teams (including the titans) are forever bottom feeders because the NFL doesn’t like them?
Who are those teams, the not “chosen” ones?
I know this seems like a question I could look up and speculate myself, but I’m actually curious to see your list.

That’s a good list.
Unfortunately Conklin got hurt and hasn’t returned.
AJ25 has a good rookie season but sucks sense.
Simmons is a wait to be seen, but must be worth the consideration to be taken despite the injury.
Davis and Evans are doing fine.

Davis ? dude I don't know

Coulda, woulda, shoulda.... its his job. His job is to put the best product on the field. Marcus is a cancer on the field.
If you wanted Mariota off the field before this season, who did you want instead?

If you want to play GM and drop your QB after his third season (after two decent ones), you better have some valid solutions.

That’s the reality JRob is dealing with.

I believe I have a lengthy track record of thinking JRob is overhyped, overrated and not a NFL competent GM.

People here get on Mariota fans/apologists cause they still hold out hope he can be sophomore year Marcus or talk about his “clutch performances” and the playoff win. Saying that it’s stupid to give him credit for that, he’s too injury prone, it was luck or he’s damaged and not the same player. Which those are valid reasons to think he’s not a franchise QB.

Yet it’s okay for people still coast off the fact Robinson made one good trade and his 2 best drafted players was a 3rd round safety and a 5th round linebacker.

The dude sucks at evaluating and drafting game changing talent in the early rounds and he has a hard on for making his big FA moves be overpaid ex-patriots.

There’s a reason Butler was benched in that Super Bowl, a reason Josh Kline was put on the waiver wire and a reason Dion Lewis wasn’t even offered another contract.
100%

I agree going into this season. I hated we have to pay Mariota 20mil, but picking up the option seemed the right thing to do. Unfortunately, now we are paying a guy 20mil to be one of the worst starting qbs in the league and we have Tannehill. In hindsight, I would absolutely not have taken the option if I knew then what I know now.

Hindsight is 20/20.

I can blame JRob for a few things but Mariota being on the roster right now isn’t one.

I really do not know why everyone is so hard on JRob. Was vastly overrated at his start for sure, but he guy has a hit rate that probably just above average in the draft. Granted, the whiffs have been higher round, but he has picked up some solid free agents also. I really do not think you can evaluate him until he gets his pick at QB.

Like the bust Saffold?
