To be fair, MM8 threw 3 passes and 2 of them were 100% drops, the 3rd was tougher but should have still been caught.Three concerning things that I see so far!
1. The interior of the offense-line looks horrible at the moment.
2. Our pass rush is almost nonexistent
3. Marcus needs to be sharper, he missed some easy throws yesterday early in the ball game.
It’s preseason so I wouldn’t panic yet, but these are three really big concerns. We have to be able to protect our quarterback. Marcus also really needs to start pushing the ball accurately down the field
3 drops by the receivers isnt on Marcus. Sure he could have placed better balls on one of the throws, but these guys are professional WR's, they should catch anything they can touch.3. Marcus needs to be sharper, he missed some easy throws yesterday early in the ball game.
Losing 1 game vs a key injury that could cost us more isn't worth it. If we lose week 1, it won't be because they didn't tough it out in PS3.The what if "the team is totally unprepared for week 1 and will lose" is far greater than the "what if someone gets hurt" if you ask me. Winning is more important and the team has shown all preseason it's not prepared to kick off week 1. And they've shown that historically when they play like this, they lose out of the gate. So there is precedent. Pittsburgh was who we were fighting with for the last playoffs spot and they looked so much more prepared than we did. One game is a big deal. The only good thing is that Cleveland is probably overrated.
I'm glad Pittsburgh did it because it just underscores you need to actually do shiot in the pre-season games to be ready to roll on day one. Both on offense and on defense. We were completely unprepared inspite of Vrabel admitting he knew they are like this.
But two things, aside from the need for reps. First, I hope this utter domination by Pittsburgh on the blitz doesn't influence Vrabel to add more protection on week one and shut the offense down even more. We have got to play wide open this year.
And second, I don't like the idea the Vrabel shriveled from the fight last night to protect his QB. The we need to protect our players and be safe mode is a loser mentality. The team needed to get reps and didn't get them, and they need to be aggressive and take the fight from kickoff. All too often we are fighting uphill with this team to get back into games. Take a frontrunner approach please.

They will be ready for week one—they are professionals. They hate preseason and it showed.
Absolutely true, but just like last preseason game... Even at his best, his passing isnt much better than fair. It is an extreme rarity for him to place a ball where a receiver not only gets an easy catch, but actually can turn upfield after making it. Usually they are dropping down, or jumping up, or turning back. That is definitely an advantage Tannehill has, almost every completion he had last night and in the previous games, the receiver is able to get some forward progress after making the catch, even if falling forward. With Mariota, they are usually falling or dropping or getting hit where their hands touch the ball.3 drops by the receivers isnt on Marcus. Hopkins catches balls with 2 fingers. OBJ catches balls between his legs. Julio Jones upside down catches those throws....
