10/10 Best Game in History

In the south you can find Klan rallies in the woods at night and slaughter them all.

Shotty and knife are the most rewarding.

Picking it up this week. But I believe Last of Us 2 will surpass it as the GOAT.

Lol really? Amazing

I managed to get the game loaded at least. Doubt I will get any time today

i remember now why i didn't care about RDR 1 and didn't get the hype of 2.

movement is so fucking slow, 90% of the time i'm just riding the fucking horse and having to keep tapping A to make it go a decent speed. The controls are shit. Slow walking in camp. spend more time drinking, eating, and tearing down the camp than accomplishing tasks.

it's a chore booting up the game, because that's what i'm doing in the game.. nothing compelling story wise has happened that has redeemed the gameplay after "20%" game completion.

this is why rockstar never had real gameplay trailers.. it doesn't exist

i'm kind of on your side here. i never played rd1 and this is my exact reaction to rdr2 so far. im not giving up on it but jeez, it's so slow

got through the first three missions in the intro last night. looks amazing. shooting feels right.

i don't see how the first one was slow. if you don't like rockstar controls, i understand. a lot of people don't, but if the first is any indication rdr2 won't be slow once it opens up. i mean it's more sparse and desolate by design but there was so much to do.

according to the % seen when i save the game, 1/5th done and i'm still riding the horse 90 miles while having to sit there tapping A over and over and over and over. AC Odyssey's use of the horse was so much better. Select a waypoint, horse follows the road automatically. Set and forget if you know where you want to go. If you want to explore, you arent trotting at 1mph and you can just hold the sprint button down.

"so much to do".. such as? hunting to unlock gear that is only cosmetic? the only thing i see to do is story missions and i'm 20% done after like 10 hours, where the majority of that is horse riding and slow walking in camp

they have legendary animals.. that you can use the pelts to unlock ugly ass outfits.. is that the only use? random strangers can give "honor".. which i've yet to see a real effect of this as i can't get beyond neutral honor, but can go down constantly.

i haven't gotten this far but i saw a clip where you sit there and watch nails being driven into boards.. for like 5 mins.. get real.. am i playing a game to entertain or a chore simulator

yeah i've seen other people with your complaints. i'm not far enough in to know yet, but based on the first game part of what i liked was how desolate things were between towns. made random encounters feel more epic. but also you can unlock fast travel at some point.

as far as things to do, in the first i had a lot of fun doing side quests/bounty missions, playing poker, having random duals, etc. i assume there is more content like this in rdr2

but yeah i dunno i just loved exploring the world and i think i'm really going to love this one. even in the intro levels everything is so massive.

You can upgrade your tent and fast travel from your camp to any city.

The game is supposed be slow paced. It's about exploration and freedom in a massive world.

Shit I spent awhile yesterday just hunting and fishing.

I would argue the game is not linier enough. You can kind of forget to go do story missions.

I spent countless times just riding around and exploring in RDR... game puts you into the world of living there.

Felt real.

I can't comment on 2.

Played a few hours this weekend and only 7.5% through the game. I spent a lot of time just exploring around and checking stuff out.

Hardest thing for me is to remember the controls when riding the horse. I keep drawing my gun accidently on people too.

RDR2 is the best hunting and fishing game ever.

Also poker except I've been slaughtering the rubes on the poker table. AI is trash.

a sad commentary

But it's so much fun.

Great serial killer sim too.

Stalk people alone on horseback at night.

Lasso them off their horse. Hog tie. Put them on your horse.

Ride off somewhere remote. Stab them and throw the body in a lake.

Build a fire and burn them alive.

Put them on the train track and wait. Throw them off a cliff.

Shotgun to the back of the head.

If you ain't having fun you need to get more creative.

I accidentally killed that guy in the very first mission cause it said hold triangle or whatever to choke so I thought I would give him a brief choke before letting him go but damn that bar filled up fast. Apparently the odonnel’s Are shit heels though so oh well

If you accidentally kill someone a character needed for a side quest they respawn the next day.

There's so many commands to remember. Shot my horse more than once.

Rented a room and got a bath in Valentine. Took the bath first then went across the hall to my room because that's where the icon was flashing. I couldn't change clothes or sleep. Then some dude comes in screaming for me to get out.

I finally figure out it's the room directly above it.
