You use the Jags as an example of good business decision-making? We're talking common business practices, but rare, extremely dumb ones
how about kirk cousins with the vikings? how about glennon when he went to the bears (pre trubisky)? how about case keenum when he went to the broncos?

just stop... they do exist... you are making yourself look stupid.

im sure youll have some idiotic reason why those dont count though.

Cousins was exactly what I referred to- big guaranteed money. A top dollar deal isn't a "prove-it" deal. The other two were contracts offered by teams with no QB whatsoever, and signed what they could in FA. Which was nothing. Not even they expected Keenum or Glennon to be their QB 4 years from the time that the contract was signed

Kirk Cousin's fully guaranteed 3 year max contract is apparently a prove-it deal. And Wentz' 4 year , not fully-guaranteed deal is a long term contract. Lol
if they believed in him, wouldnt he have gotten more than 3 years? 3 years is not long-term. same reason the skins didnt give him a mega deal, they needed more proof.

im sure theyll be happy to extend him when it's over, if he proves/earns it.

I get the vibe that some feel Mariota is a shoe in for a new deal regardless of his play this year. I wouldn’t be so sure about that.

So far, the “prove it deal” QBs in these last few pages have been Jeff George, Blake Bortles, Case Keenum and the huge contract of Kirk Cousins.

Lol

so the point was proven then. kirk is arguable but the rest are not.

incoming "those dont count because..."

Your point was proven to our favor. I was waiting for you to throw Fitz in there. Good QBs, especially franchise QBs don’t take “prove it” deals.

uh no... he said that qbs dont take prove it deals... they do. case closed.

no moving the goalposts now.

fitz is too old to be on a prove it deal. once this deal is up he's gonna retire.

why not 5? i mean he's a sure thing with nothing to prove... it would be in their favor to lock him up before the cap goes up more.
Because you are comparing a fully guaranteed contract to a bloated, ambiguous standard one that NFL players hate and Cousins wanted to avoid. It was the first of its kind in NFL history. You don't make exceptions for players who have something to prove.

Ah yes, Mary in the class of Glennon, Bortles, Keenum and Fitz. Great company, excellent argument you win.

Russell Wilson just signed a four-year deal. Must be a prove it contract as well.
