If the vision of the movie or character calls for an R rating then by all means, go for the R. Making movies R rated just because is stupid though. I'm not saying that's what's going on with Wolverine, but it sure is convenient timing.

Terminator would have sucked as PG-13. The Dark Knight would have benefited zero with some blood and an R rating.

That's why I didn't even consider seeing the new one. Can't make that crap PG-13. Thought they'd know better than that.

I keep seeing it in my Facebook feed - but no not yet..
Comet TV keeps adding so many great horrors that I have a hard time keeping up. Definitely my new favorite channel - and we now get Svengooli to boot.
Everything is coming up Mulhouse!

@CRUDS have you tried or heard anything about Home | Shudder ?

Selection seems not amazing but it's only $5/mo. I might check it out. Looks like there's only an app for Roku at this point though.[/QUOTE]

The first movie Arnie made after leaving politics. A damn good action flick.

Going to the movies in a few to see the Witch

I've seen the fallout on Facebook over this movie already.
I saw one friend who likes mostly popular offerings saying it was unbearable and wanted his money back - and another who likes slow burners and interesting flicks stating it was a very good film..

It was... Different. I can't really tell if I liked it yet. My wife enjoyed it.

Extremely slow, the soundtrack is good however. Some disturbing parts. I'll sleep on it and decide if I really liked it.

I really want to see this movie. I love interesting horror movies, and this one looks like it might be right up my alley.

Saw a couple the past few days.

We Are Still Here- I've read a lot of mixed-to-bad things about this movie but I really, really enjoyed it. Sure there were some issues but it really did a great job of creating a creepy mood/atmosphere.

Black Mass- Your standard biopic formula. But still pretty entertaining. Not something I ever really see myself going back to though.

Larry Fessenden is the best..
I liked Still Here regardless of a few oddball hiccups here and there.
Nice to see Barbara Crampton make a comeback as well.
Southbound is a good double-feature for this one..

Black Mass was more of a snooze than I expected.

Yeah I put Southbound on my watchlist after your earlier rec.

Having read books and watched docs on this story before I was kind of worried it would be a snoozefest for me. I would say it was ultimately pretty forgettable but I did enjoy it well enough. As with a lot of biopics the abrupt, out of nowhere ending felt a bit jarring.

Watched Man On Fire by Ridley Scott. Movie took forever to get somewhere but I guess the first 45 minutes of the movie is character building. Overall a good movie, but damn, don't watch it if your epileptic.

Haven't seen that since shortly after it originally came out on DVD. I remember really enjoying it though. Need to revisit it sometime.

Watched Bone Tomahawk last night. Western set movies are generally not my favorite but I really enjoyed this. Richard Jenkins character was hilarious. And oh man, that one scene was brutal.
