Seeing as Cosell said last week that he also prefers Winston over Oregon QB Marcus Mariota, it's safe to say Mettenberger would be Cosell's No. 1 quarterback if he were in this class.
He's good at breaking down a player's mechanics and the aspects of their game and presenting it in an unbiased way. He's not good at predicting how kids will adapt to a game in which they'll be asked to do much more advanced work and face 10x the competition. The ball was thrown late and allowed the defender to recover and make a play on it. The ball should arrive as soon as he transitions. But Mariota needs to see an opening before he throws it, as he has no anticipation. Which is why he's so limited.This is inaccurate, i watched the big play to Davis over a few times, and the ball was placed perfectly. Davis could've caught it hip high in stride, but I believe because he felt the db coming from behind and after the earlier ball being broken up, he decided to come back to the ball and secure the catch, which he did.
