We all support him, we just can’t count on him. Let’s be real, we legit won that Chiefs game on a miracle and Kelcey going down.....

And Andy Reid running a qb keeper to lose the game. Real ones remember

We won that game because Mularkey gave some epic movie-like half time speech.

Titans fan base never happy about anything. We win a playoff game, which we haven't done in a decade, some were very happy then some mad about it. Looking back at it the loser mentality ones making excuses why we won! Unbelievable. 10 years from now, no one will ever say we only won because... history book will just say we won and KC lost. But what the sour fools here will hate is that other NFL fans will always remember the MM8 TD pass to himself and that chaps them. In my work travels, I meet so many people and when we talk Titans most bring up that memory.

No one actually hates him. Well, outside of perhaps a small handful of posters. "Hater" is just a term given to anyone who doesnt believe he is the answer by the gotitans Mariota fan club. Because it's easier to just call someone a hater than actually debate the facts.

Last year the guy was injured, without a running game, line did not play well for half the season, and missing his 2 favorite targets from the year before. Many times this was brought up, it got dismissed as "excuses"

That's not debating the facts

The "haters" group also want to say, over and over, that hes a 24/23 QB and that "he is what he is"

So a friendly bet was suggested, multiple times, that he would have more than 12 TDs if he stays healthy. No takers. If he is what he is and that's a 12 TD QB, why isn't anyone taking the bet?

(Bet is still open for anyone ready to back up their battlecry) Come take my moolah.

Many times, when a poster posts some stats, aka facts, that are in Mariotas favor, the "haters" dismiss them and go to one of their rallying cries. (Such as 24/23!!!!) No discussion

How many times have we heard, "He has no heart" Just a stupid argument based on nothing. People don't understand a calm demeanor? That's on them.

A couple days in shoutbox, one special poster said that Mariota doesnt even want the starting job.

Haters are given the term because they cherry pick what they want to listen to and what they want to hear. Theres a lot of legit arguments against Mariota but the REAL "haters" are just dont seem to be too bright. They take an argument that a handful if "fairies" make and seem to actually think that handful represents anyone who defends Mariota.

Same thing for you guys. I dont see a lot of you as haters. Just terrible comedians. There are actually several of you who simply dont think Mariota can get it done. You get labeled haters the way "you guys" label fairies.

It's a two way street.

I chose to reply to you just to address a few things.

Thank you for outlining the entire problem of this organization and the fans that settle.

Some of us want enjoyable tenures. Enjoyable eras. Enjoyable years. Not one small Win that could have easily set the team back even further if it wasn’t for Mularkey backing out of the offer he was given to get rid of Mush mouth.

Most of us want that. Disagreeing on how to get there is common.

Mularkey has taken us further than any team since 2003. Let that sink in.

His stubbornness cost his his jov. Acting like someone is going to come in and miraculously turn is into perennial playoff team is every bad teams wish. A lot of things have to happen for that to become a reality.

Fans settling doesnt have shit to do with who the organization hires. Its reality. People complaining on a message board doesnt choose how an organization is run. All the crying done about Mularkey and he was still offered an extension.

That's how much your "wants" matter

In the end, I just want to win as much as everyone else does

As much of this thread is now mirroring the other Mariota Megathread, I will leave this one open only for another couple of days for those who haven't voted yet.

All discussion of the pros/cons, etc. of Mariota's history and projected season needs to go in Mariota's Ceiling Heading Into the Season.

Any other threads created which rehashes comments made in that thread will be deleted.

Yeah, we all remember how he was so freaking bad that game that he literally hit a defender in the head with the ball and bounced back to him. That is something to be remembered for....

Why the if he stays healthy mark then?

Mariota sucks complete booty and 11 td's should not be the mark for a QB taken 2nd overall.

I'll bet but the standard of 11 td's that you are optimistic of Mariota passing is ridiculous/hilarious.

Reportedly, several coaches prefer Tannehill. Probably anyone involved with the offense.

This is an interesting way of saying “I’m cool with a badly run organization”

Is that what fandom is supposed to be? Apathy?

I've said 100 times that his health is a concern and that I'd never bet on him unless theres an injury clause. His injuries are a legit knock on him and a concern m.

Several posters say it over and over and while the numbers show it's a fact, I think hes better than a 12 TD QB. If "he is what he is", then you guys would be jumping all over the bet.

A 12TD QB standard is so low, that even you guys know he will do better than that if he stays healthy.

I've pretty fair about his weaknesses. I'll also be pretty critical of him this season until he proves otherwise. I'm not even optimistic about the guy but I think hes better than what weve seen the past 2 years.

Dont mistake what I'm saying. I'm not saying he will be the guy at the end of the season

If that's what you took from it, I don't know what to tell you

You basically outlined why I can’t “want” something to change- something was was clearly not up to par. Because I have no control over it.

“That’s how much your wants matter”

“I want to win as much as any one else”

Too bad, I guess. Scream into a void?

Yes they did offer that crummy coach an extension. Because we miraculously won a playoff game that GOD himself had to intervene and help with. Folks that wanted him and his OC gone were fairly sure this would be the case and casualty of winning said game.

We also knew that team wasn’t even close to SB quality so the >1% chance we made it to the bowl wasn’t as appealing compared to getting in some fresh talent at HC/OC.

Ones with a brighter outlook. Mind you, there were a lot of folks still defending Mariota (myself included) due to the absolute **** offense scheme.

Luckily for us, that extension came with stipulations that he did not agree to. It’s a win win, we got a fun playoff win and still moved on from a hold over level coach.

You can want it, I just dont think that disgruntled fans have that much sway

You're comments were "Some of us want to enjoy tenures. Enjoyable eras. Enjoyable years." As of we dont all want that.

Munchak. Mularkey. They have proven it. I'm happy with AAS is the owner and think she will strive to win. I think she is a good owner and I think that is from the desire to make the team better.

Me saying I want the same thing isnt screaming into the void. As I said in the first sentence "disagreeing on how to get there is common"

At the time, I would have been fine with Mularkey coaching if he had replaced Robiski. The thing that bothered me the most about him was he liked to blame the players and sing the coaches praises.

When he said he wasnt considering coaching changes, I wanted him gone.

We also knew that team wasn’t even close to SB quality so the >1% chance we made it to the bowl wasn’t as appealing compared to getting in some fresh talent at HC/OC.

Are we super bowl quality this year? Do you want us to throw games since we aren't? I disagree with the mentality.

I know i know.... exaggeration to prove a point.

I want to win, especially if it's a playoff game. Whe the odds were were against us against the Pats, you're not getting to the super bowl without going through them. Would you still have wanted to lose if Brady tore his ACL during the week leading up to the game. Anything can happen in football and when we're in the playoffs, I always want to win.

The only time I would want less wins is if we were fighting for a top draft pick and we need a QB.

I agree with this
