And the organization didn’t fail him...He failed them. They literally tried EVERYTHING to fix him. Coaching, coordinators, scheme, players, drafts, trades, FA...WTF else can you do after 5 years of .500 or below football. It’s so bad they turned to Ryan Tannehill (a guy we traded a 4th for) to take over....

In the game against the Jaguars, the Titans OC had no answer in his playbook in stopping the onslaught against Mariota. No doubt a simple little adjustment used by many teams would have stopped the incursion from reoccurring, however it appeared Smith continued using the same offensive philosophy probably because he was blaming the sack count on Mariota's so-called ineffectiveness as a QB. Joe Buck couldn't believe what he was seeing. I don't think he ever saw anything like it in all his years of broadcasting. Yeah it was mindboggling that he was sacked close to 10 times. Afterward Vrabel held a press conference and blamed the OL however it wasn't their fault. It was just a rookie coaching staff that was becoming more and more critical of Mariota in his efficiency as an NFL QB. But the fact of the matter is that they didn't know how to deter a blitz. Oh hallelujah, right?

There's a simple technique when you want to avoid a blitz, and in so doing you "turn burn" the defense. You make them pay for coming at you like that.

Spelling it out for you all, you don't go straight back in the pocket only to be sandwiched at three different angles. You simply take out the middle/left by not blocking them. All lineman pull to the right and the DT and OLB are blocked out of the way. On the right side, the second tier of defense is behind a wall of blockers. This simple designed play has the QB going back diagonally to his right. This is where you make the defense pay for over committing. If DBs stay at home you pass, if they fall back in coverage you run. They wouldn't call another blitz again, believe me.

I ask you Mariota haters. Who would want to be sacked 10 times in one game? What would that do to your morale? What would it do to your confidence in the coaching staff? Every player on the team sees what's happening too. Unless they came up from the ranks of a poorly coached team would not a bell go off in their heads? Houston, we've got a problem, right? And that's another post. Morale and player confidence. God help us all!

You know what I think? It is conceivable that after the game with the Jags, Mariota was told by his agent to find some way to sit out the rest of the season. The reason would be that the game against the Jags was a great advertisement to the entire world that Mariota was playing with the worst coached team ever in NFL history and by sitting out it would benefit him in signing with another team as a free agent next season. It does his career no good if he winds up a paraplegic before he could move on. Being benched is actually the best thing for his career.

So I'm thinking Mariota said good riddans to this team after that Jaguars game. After a few sacks we all seen how uncharacteristically he nonchalantly threw two interceptions against the broncos. He's had enough. Who could blame him?

Foolish statement? Lol...Plenty of QB’s have won with average coaching. Matt LeFleur sucked here...Aaron Rodgers has done fine first year with him. Problem is, Mariota doesn’t win often, and he can’t make simple throws. That’s facts jack. No coach is fixing that. His pocket presence, lack of vision, poor mechanics, list goes on. Keep slurping up that Mary baby gravy though. He’s done here soon, so better get it in lol...
The fact you say lafluer sucked here is telling on your part.

He did when you compare how he is doing now lol. What was our record last year guy? Did we make the playoffs? Foh with your d sucking nonsense. Mariota is on the bench for a reason. He’s a grown man and a professional athlete. You can either get it done or you can’t at some point. He can’t make simple NFL throws...It’s actually astonishing how much he has regressed each year. Those intangibles aren’t coaching. He can’t do QB 101 anymore, and if you were watching games, it’s clear as day to see. It wasn’t shocking to see him benched, he sucked and has sucked, and Tannehill was outplaying him since he got here (not that it’s amazing-which is telling).

Can’t just blame Titans for Mariota. Situation hasn’t been ideal but Marcus even said himself that he failed to “step up” and Tannehill has looked much better than him since coming in . It is what it is .

Yes, we're moving on, he will be with another team next season. Hope we can get Cam here.

We need a proven OC and OLine coach. Who ever we pick up for qb next year will be also inconsistent and ineffective without better additions at the coaching positions

As much of a Marcus supporter that I am, it's been tough to watch him go down in flames in recent years. I hope he can go to a team & coaching staff that will challenge him and work on his deficiencies so he can become a better QB.

I thought I’d quit watching this team after they benched Mariota. But I watched them more today than I watched the Saints who are supposed to be my team.

The bottom line is and I started to come to grips with this this year. There are throws Mariota can’t make. Tannehill made a couple of throws today that Mariota would floated up to have it knock down or it would have been intercepted. Tannehill looks great. I’m happy for him and the Titans. But Mariota is out in Tennessee. And he it may not be long before he is out of the NFL. He don’t have the arm or constitution to be any better than what he is.

Wow! Another lucky game? Or was it skill?

If it's not a blunder at the one yard line it's a slew of turnovers in the red zone and now it was a botched FG attempt. Three games that the Titans pulled out of the hat. May the best team win, right?

A team that should be 2-8 is now 5-5. Lol. In each of the games that Tannehill started you get a feel that this is not a quality offense, not by any stretch of the imagination. It lags behind and can't seem to sustain drives but by some magic it comes out on top. Here's some false hope for ya, lol.

Mahomes did not run the ball at all and the chiefs defense was the weakest that we've seen all year. I was surprised by their lackluster performance. Still in all their jetlag they should have walked away with a victory.

I think we know that the luck is going to run out soon and truth about this offense will surface and coaches are going to be given their walking papers. It's just a matter of time. But for the time being luck is on their side and fans can be happy about that. Yee haw!

As for me, I'm not going to hang my jersey in the locker room of this going nowhere franchise. A matter of fact I'm getting my refund from the NFL. Trump is right about the quality of the game. It's ratings are way down for good reason. I've tried to stay interested but it's way beyond dreary and dreadful. The negative far outweighs the positive. Not wanting to watch millionaires anymore. Click, it's off.
Well, bye.

There's so much moron in this post I don't know where to begin...

Let's start with your comment about "jet lag." Kansas city and Nashville are in the same time zone. It is an hour and a half long flight.

Anyway, hope you actually stfu and leave soon.
Dude said the Titans were gonna have jet lag a few weeks ago in back to back home games.

I think he has zero fundamental idea of what jet lag is and hopes if he keeps saying it someone will tell him.

You're still here?

You are a fan of bad quarterbacks. Boom, roasted.
You going to really say Tammy is better than Cam? Cam has been injured but a healthy Cam vs a healthy Tammy, Cam will dominate and take over a game. He was MVP caliber the super bowl year, when has Tammy ever been that level?
