He has not played well "this season". 1st game he was dead average. 2nd game he was not good. 3rd game he was not good. 4th game he was good.
So far he is 1 out of 4. If you want a qb that is good 1/4th of his games then you have it. I expect him to have more good games. I also expect him to have more bad games.

I am really happy to see how fast he was throwing the ball. That is something he can learn and if he has finally learned it, he will not get sacked as much. It also requires trust in your receivers. You have to anticipate and give them the opportunity to make the play.

Look, I didn’t want to draft him in the first place. He isn’t a franchise QB. But, in comparison with his last two seasons, he has played well. You keep beating the drum, I’ll keep hoping for playoff victories.
 
Mariota is on his way to QB Valhala were few QBs have gone will take team and Titans fans with him on his journey to greatness. Super Bowl 54 Champions World Champions
 
Prolly cause he has been so cautious with the ball. I pray he comes out like last week...History tells us otherwise.
 
Funny part bout that is he just broke Collins streak. By playing like Collins. And many many people who love this and are bragging about it for Mary probably look back at those Collins years with disdain at the ineptitude of our qb to produce

You are missing so much of what Collins produced.
He produced quality handoffs to CJ and Lenwhale allowing one of the most ferocious running games ever.
He produced plenty of renewable energy resources by all that air coming off the rocket arm as the ball soared into the stands.
He produced hope for all alcoholics everywhere that they too could be NFL QBs.
He produced a content Jeff fisher which allowed guys like Rob Bironas to become one of the highest value fantasy football kickers year after year.

Bet MM hasn’t done any of that.
 
Mariota is inconsistent, so far this year.
Just like his previous 4 seasons.
Sometimes very good, sometimes very bad, wtih bad and good being equally likely.

BUT....
There is one area he has significantly improved.
Turnovers.
No fumbles lost, no interceptions so far this year.

He is also throwing more TD passes than last year.

I am still not sold on him, but progress is a good thing.
 
We tried Big Warren Moon with good success.
We tried dumb Warren Moon with some early goodness but ultimately was a failure.
We tried white Warren Moon but was constantly injuried
And Quiet Warren Moon that is okay but not a leader and doesn't do much to win games.

Maybe lets try a qb that is slow as S### but can actually pass and make good decisions.

How about actual warren moon? So what he’s 60. Probably still has a cannon.
 
I am no Mariota fan (see sig), but today he played fine. Not great and not terrible. He had a few WTF throws and held the ball a little to long again, but played well enough that the Titans should/could have won.
 
The team will play good enough to be 8-8 and we'll miss out on a franchise QB.

Been saying this since last season.

People really think this man who is a terrible talent evaluator (especially in early rounds) gonna draft a the correct QB early in the draft.

Laughable.
 
For those on the tank idea, if I remember correctly, titans already picked 2 QBs in the top 5 that were both not the answer. Maybe tanking isn’t necessary or even ideal to get a QB in the draft.

Top qb picks are terrible. Can’t get caught up in the hype of a dual threat stat monster again. But, we will.
 
A Top Pick QB won't matter one bit if this team won't properly support him.

A legit, QB-minded OC

AND

A true QB Coach.
