Our Line was Tops in 2018? Wrong
13 TD/15 INTs is on the line?

5. TENNESSEE TITANS
Total pressures surrendered: 126
Best player: Jack Conklin
Combinations used: 7

Although the Titans’ bookend tackles of Taylor Lewan and Jack Conklin – both former first-round picks – performed slightly better than the interior trio, the Tennessee offensive line might be the most balanced unit in the league, where there is the smallest difference between the weakest link and the best performer. Their offensive line was able to consistently create space on inside zone runs – the Titans’ most frequently used run concept – as their backs averaged 2.12 yards before contact on these runs, the third-highest in the league and significantly more than the league average of 1.56 yards before contact. In addition, the Titans finished the regular season with a pass-blocking efficiency rating of 82.3, which was tied for the third-highest rating in the league as they surrendered 126 total pressures – and just 14 sacks – on 553 pass-blocking snaps.

The QB has just been bad. Accept it.

I guess we upgraded our line for no FN reason then, we just waisted a sheet ton of money. You know more than JRob and Varbel and Stats never lie. you are right and everyone one else is wrong...my bad

That’s all 2017 including the 13/15.
He said 2018, not that I put a lot of stock in PFF anyway.

Without a QB, you scare nobody.
Considering the topic of Indy, we fixed that QB problem. I promise Gabbert will not start against the Colts this year (for the titans at least).

The offense gets a new guard, a new WR, their TE back, their QB back for Indy matchups.
On D, the got rid of/lost Orakpo and Morgan and signed Wake.

Oops, meant 16-17. I typically don't either, but they provide tangible data such as # of pressures, sacks, yards before contact, etc. And compare that to the rest of the league . It's a better system than just looking at the sack total and blaming the line.

Yep. I said it on here many times, many aren’t considering that Mary contributes to some of those sacks...Imagine blocking for someone who always moves around the pocket and isn’t very decisive. I agree that our interior line could use some support hands down, but I’ve also watched Mary dick around in the pocket often.

no one isnt considering that, but the iOL was also very bad last season. you guys keep saying we arent considering it... but we are.

Well thank you for stating that, seriously...Because I don’t get that vibe from others.

I have stated my stance/thoughts on Mary several times. I am all about fixing holes/problem areas of our team.

#3 scoring defense vs . #29 passing offense....
Luck and the Colts vs Titans in 2018:

71 points
833 yds.
260 yds rushing/573 yds passing.
TOP 68:57
Luck 48 of 57, 72% comp, 8.5 YPA

It would be great if the Titans didn't need to average 37 points a game to beat the Colts.

My issue with taking TE in the first and OL in the 2nd means Luck will still have all day against us.
As much as it sucks to have to game plan entire offseasons for him, it’s the key to winning division. Cannot take another 2 losses to the Colts.
Interior defensive line and edge. Mariota is who he is.

You don't seem to understand the symbiotic nature of football and how there are many variables that impact a player's stats attributed from many different things. But you want to narrow everything down into raw stats that you don't understand. Case in point are these silly comments you make when you don't understand the context of what you're saying. You say he didn't elevate Walker...then agree that he elevated him but now it's not enough. So you're contradicting your first statement which the reality is, these direct stat to stat comparisons don't work.

You said he didn't elevate anyone, and I just gave you three examples...but that's not good enough for you?

For example, how do you think Tannehill has better 'stats' in raw terms but has a much lower (and below avg) qbr last year while Mariota has lesser raw stats but had an above average qbr?

You keep wanting to b%tch and complain about raw stats when the reality is that's not how winning and losing works. And your complaints are ONLY against our qb. Why aren't you in every thread killing Conklin for a terrible year, Spain and Kline for terrible years, Jones for leading the league in sacks for a OC, Taylor for dropping big passes and TD's, Rak and Morgan for such poor sacks numbers, etc???

Every player in the league improved in year 2??? Wow, what other incorrect info do you want to add?

Then we'll just agree that he's made some players around him better, but not up to your liking.
Jesus you have a stiffy for Mariota. It's amazing how you will take a dump on every player(except walker) to defend one guy. Mariota. Look, he's a nice guy and a hard worker. He's just almost jake locker part 2. That's not a good thing...

Wow...the hypocrisy!!! A moment ago you were lambasting PFF as being nonsense and then you change your tune when they say something you like???

ROFLMAO!!!

Do you think the interior 3 played as well as our OT's? Is this like the...pff says Cyprien is the 4th best cover S and then we found out the hard way he couldn't cover?

ABC said...

"I typically don't either, but... It's a better system...[/QUOTE]

Try watching every game and every play and MAYBE you'll understand what happened and not need to read about it by people who are all over the place.

<yawn...>

Yep. I said it on here many times, many aren’t considering that Mary contributes to some of those sacks...

Really??? Who are the many? I haven't seen anyone say Mariota isn't responsible for ANY of the sacks.

But more to the point, SOME HATERS clearly want to blame Mariota for EVERYTHING and absolve everyone not named Mariota.

Don't you think everyone should be held accountable for their play?

It's amazing how you will take a dump on every player(except walker) to defend one guy.

If an OL whiffs and gets the QB killed, should I blame the QB or the guy who gave up the free rush?

If a wr can't get open or drops a perfectly thrown ball, should I blame the QB, or the person responsible?

When Henry was playing poorly before December, should we blame Henry and the OL for not getting him holes? Or should we blame the QB?

I've played and coached football. I call out players who aren't playing well...including Mariota. When ABC put up some video on one of these threads, I pointed out where Mariota threw a perfect pass to Taylor who dropped it (would have been a TD) but on another throw to CD, CD had to sky high and reach way back for it. It was a GREAT catch and a terrible throw. Don't you think we should hold all of the players accountable for what they do?

The difference is, I don't HATE Mariota or any other player or coach.

I want the team to WIN and you can only get better by understanding the problems...not by blaming the QB for everything.

Henry never played poorly. He just didn’t get the touches he needed. If you actually played and coached football, you would know this.

Mariota has not shown that he is a franchise QB. Do I want him to be one? Yes. But, there is absolutely zero evidence that he is.

You tend to type a lot of words. I think a lot of people on this board value your ability to type a lot of words. Unfortunately, your opinion means as much as the people you despise on this board. Give it a rest.
