Rewatching the game on NFL network missed this sobering stat (came on after the Tannehil “fumble”) during next TN possession, Titans lead the league in plays for negative yardage (89 plays I believe so far this year) that’s pretty god awful. We have won (very luckily I might add) 3/4 games recently in spite of our stellar Offensive coordinator no doubt about that.

I’m not a huge Smith fan, but I’ve watched our offense make mistake after mistake and handcuff Smith with long yardage situations. It isn’t all bad scheme...it is mainly poor execution. About half of those negative yardage plays are sacks where our sieve OL got destroyed

Not many NFL teams have an offense like the Chiefs filled with amazing speed and a great offensive mind in Reid....it sure is fun to watch....but we still won the game!!!

Penalties were never an issue prior to this year. That's not a coincidence.

If Art stays, the entire WR group will demand a trade and Tannehill might not even want to play here.
Wouldn't it reflect poorly on dip chit Vrabel getting a new OC every year. He'd be three years as a HC and 3 new OCs. Art will stay

If Tannenhill keeps winning does it save Arts job?

The offense is improving. It was the guys first year, he was pretty much mandated to keep the offense the same for consistency, and he was shackled to a crap qb to start the year.

Maybe he's not so bad after all. Let's see how the rest of the season goes.

I’ve been as big of a critic of Art as anyone, but at the end of the day he is still a first year OC and there has to be a reason that he has survived all the coaching changes. I can live with them giving him at least the rest of the year to see if the offense improves. Also, to be fair he has been crippled by this horrendous O-line. With that being said, I think he has done a terrible job of scripting plays that will get our WR’s in favorable matchups and there have been a few games this year where it seems like our offensive gameplan has been to completely ignore the opponents weaknesses and play right to their strengths. Davis and Brown are WAY too talented to only be targeted a couple times a game, that is just coaching malpractice. I think at the very least, if they plan on keeping him on next year, they have to bring in an experienced guy to pair with him like they did when they brought in LeBeau to be assistant DC.

The Titans sold us on going good to great but promoted a guy who's never been an OC to OC. We should of went with an experienced OC and had art work under him because he clearly wasn't ready. Even beating the Chiefs I feel he needs to go at the end of the year, he's just not good. Only 2 of our wins were not a fluke were we took and maintained control of the game for the duration. But they both were bad teams all around. If Henry got shut down against KC you think Art would of been capable of adapting and winning the game?

Art is marys fault

Cant be "mad" at Art, mans trying lol

But agreed, we should have gotten a real OC all along..

This was a play that we ran on 3rd and long. Every receiver is running into the middle of the field. I can't believe that we ended up with someone worse than Robiskie.

Its not uncommon to run a play to just gain something safe on a 3rd and 13ish from inside your own 10. That looks like 2 inside curls and a deep in at the top which might get open if this develops longer and the bottom short end with the rb below him are 2 more outlets.

This might not be flashy but it isnt a unreasonable call.

Im.not sold on art and i think his game planing is a weakness. We seem 2 come out with no idea what is right 2 do. However we get better as the game goes on which means he can atleat make adjustments.

That all said, i did a quick search and didnt find anything but id like 2 see how many rookie oc are in the top 6 of the league in ppg. I know he isn't overall but mary was holding us back so id like 2 go on the tanny numbers.

Can he improve? I think so. Is he the crazy good guy everyone wants? I doubt it. But as with most things in life, geting the job done is more important than trying over and over again for perfection.

One other small positive I can see with him is that he wont be leaving for hc job soon which is a giant issue we have talked about

We stuck with Art to coddle Mary as always...Irony, he is riding the pine because he got outplayed but Tannehill. This isn’t on Art, it’s on ownership for hanging onto hope with Mary for far too long...
