We aren’t getting McCoy. Let’s quit the madness. I wouldn’t hate it at all, but we all know this deep down. I think the team believes we are good there now. Probably don’t want to invest more in the position. I’d be very surprised.

Would be a great alternative to SUH...
IF the plan isn't set in stone to REST JEFF all year --- then we have to get some sort of a 'donut' .... so to speak lol.....
But you gotta wonder tho when the Colts are gonna start taking some shots with that cap space... could definitely see this being a piece worth their investment.

Yea man , I still don’t see where we’re gonna get all the extra pressure from . We lost Orakpo and Morgan and added Wake . We need something else or run the risk of Luck sitting back there surgically dissecting us like he has for what feels like a lifetime. It’s torture to watch as a fan. I’d be giddy if we got McCoy .

Would be very happy to see a 2-3 year deal at around 10M per for McCoy. That would be the perfect situation for setting up the line to be great now, unstoppable when Simmons is back, and then we can move on once mccoys deal is up and Simmons has a year or two under his belt.

1 year prove it deal and give Simmons all the more chance to learn behind Casey, McCoy and Wake.
If McCoy doesn't have a stellar year I.e 9+ sacks no need to pick him up and gives Simmons a whole year and a half to get that ACL in check.
No doubt Simmons is a starter for us but we have problems with lingering injuries let's just get this 1 done right.

Yeah, this is what kills me about not addressing pass rusher (for this year ar least) in an adequate way ...
We all saw how Luck looked against the Cheifs when getting pressured. He looked like shit.
But when we play them he has all day to throw and can just sit back and wait for someone to get open. Then he looks like a god.
We HAVE to generate more pass rush, and I dont see any improvement in that area this year.

Luck had his worst games vs the best front-7's last year, and we did almost nothing to upgrade our pass rush. Simmons wont be available til the last 4 weeks (assuming), and then how effective will he really be not having been in training camp...
We should go get McCoy, still an effective DT AND prob cheaper than Suh..

Makes too much sense, so we wont sign him
Im hearing Jags, Cowboys, Brown, Chargers, and Pats are looking to sign him

Losing Orakpo and Morgan is an addition to the pass rush. They were both awful last year. Would love to get McCoy, but I just don't see it happening.
Hopefully Landry makes a big jump in year 2, and Wake is a solid pass rusher, even at his age. Correa, Walker, and Finch will provide solid backups.

mccoy didnt need a deal, he still had 3 years left on his. he just cost too much.
