Sure Cause ALL our draft pick hit 100%.
Not against draft vs McCoy (or McCoy vs draft pending what we have to give) but your logic is flawed.
We're not getting McCoy.

Don't think we will, but that's not what you originally posted. Your original post alluded that you'd rather have a draft pick rather than have a proven vet (albeit older and with a less productive year)... I see that as flawed.
In our current state: I'll take the proven vet that's a little older (even with the slight decline) under the right contract over an possible draft pick.
We have too many needs. A stop gap helps with that (like the Wake signing).

Just draft a guy that could be great for us for years to come and not some declining dude that might have a year or two left .

or we could you know, do both. Like every other contender does. 21-23 year old guys rarely come in and wreak havoc immediately. Pick up McCoy and still bring someone to learn & play behind him and JC.

Looks like the Browns trying to make a move for McCoy. That would give them a front line of Miles Garret, McCoy, Sheldon Richardson and Olivier Vernon. Jesus. Good thing we play them week 1.

It’s maddening how many years we wasted twiddling our thumbs instead of an aggressive roster building approach.

Why would we give up any draft capital when SUH is still out there as a free agent? They're the same age but I'd rather have SUH.

Could be a good stop gap while Simmons redshirts. DL needs help, and we haven't done much to help it this year

2018 stats for Jurrell Casey and Gerald McCoy:
Per AtoZsports Nashville

Casey:

62 tackles

7 sacks

11 tackles for loss

11 QB hits

McCoy:

28 tackles

6 sacks

6 tackles for loss

21 QB hits

Get. Him. J-Rob.

Imagine a line of Casey, McCoy, Simmons? Yikes.

I swear, if he ends up on the Colts....#knockonwood

Tennessee Titans

Although the Tennessee Titans currently employ another veteran defensive tackle in Jurrell Casey, the AFC South franchise still needs to solidify the spot right next to Casey along the defensive front. The Titans used the team’s first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to select former Mississippi State defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, though the soon-to-be rookie remains slated to miss significant time due to a lingering knee injury. As a result, the Titans need some help in a hurry if Tennessee is going to compete in the very competitive AFC South.

With the possibility of having two Pro Bowlers up the middle if McCoy can join Casey, it would certainly be hard to run the football on the Titans, who do a pretty good job of running the football themselves.

However, it is also worth noting that because Simmons is eventually expected to become a force at the NFL level, perhaps Tennessee wouldn’t be willing to commit more than a year or two to a player like McCoy, which could prevent them from ultimately signing him. Even so, a player of this caliber could immediately help a franchise looking to reach the postseason in 2019 with the ailing Simmons serving as part of the future plans more so than the present. On the other hand, the Titans do have the fifth-most available salary cap space in the league at the moment while inking McCoy to a long-term deal would not only give Tennessee a sound player up front, but also another mentor for the aforementioned Simmons going forward.
