He must've finally 100%'d it. It's on now.Gotta be happy.... Jrob ain’t playing RDR2 this season!
It's only a late 4th round pick for a similar player to Mariota, so fits the scheme perfectly. And we didn't have to compete with other teams to sign him.Great pick up! But are we talking about a backup QB here? If so, why give up the draft picks instead of signing say Bortles and keeping the picks?
I think this is reading into it too much. This move was made because Gabbert is hot garbage, and Mariota has never played a full season in his career. It's equivalent to them increasing their insurance coverage.

We know Marcus has the injury issues, so we got about the best insurance policy possible for a 4th.
Also Tanny>Bortles
I am happy with the upgrade at QB. I am just not sold on giving up draft picks to get a backup. Maybe he though can push Mariota to reach his potential or out the door.
I think the point you may be missing is that Tannehill is the closest thing we can get to a carbon copy backup of Marcus. Same physique, play style, mobility and yes even injury history. I understand this being a risky move because of Tannehill's injuries but as long as he's healthy if/when Marcus has to miss time then we'll be gravy. Why is everyone so excited to get another injury prone QB? What am I missing...
At some point it may become we gave up a pick for our starter. Also gives us flexibility going in to next year if we decide to let Marcus walk, Tannehill could be a cheaper bridge option until we draft a replacement.I am happy with the upgrade at QB. F what other people think. They “other people” are idiots. This trade is getting roasted everywhere I look, which I don't really understand at all. We gave up a 4th next year, what does a 4th round pick really matter? You get a fringe starter there if all goes well.
We will get a comp pick (if we don't go crazy in FA) if Tanny signs somewhere else the following year.I am happy with the upgrade at QB. I am just not sold on giving up draft picks to get a backup. Maybe he though can push Mariota to reach his potential or out the door.
was tanne in a new system missing his 2 best receivers from the year before?
i know context isnt allowed on gotitans but.....

“I talked to Ryan … and he understands that he is coming in as the back-up quarterback,” Robinson said. “I’ve talked to Marcus and told Marcus he is our starting quarterback. Ryan is here to help Marcus, to push Marcus, to compete with Marcus.
“And after talking with Marcus, he said: ‘One thing Jon that I believe with all my heart is that you try and do what’s best for the team and you try and put us in the best position to win football games.' And that made me feel pretty good.”
