Yeah, we won 9 games last year with a QB that played in a wheelchair, our top WR pouting and deciding to quit, our top TE out in the 1st game of the year, and Blaine Gabbert as our backup QB.

That article is #FakeNews
That article is a fluff-piece. The headline predicts regression, BUT:

"Sure, regression is possible for the Titans next season. However, I think Tennessee, thanks to their off-season additions and strong draft efforts, are much more likely to improve on their win totals from the last three seasons. Marcus Mariota has more offensive weapons to work with, the offensive line was upgraded and Cam Wake should provide the team with a more productive pass rush. "

So which is it?

Great minds think a like!!! I quoted this exact same paragraph in response to this article on page 88 of this thread! lol

:toast:

Mariota the garbage time king?

Mariotas only had 7 300 plus yard passing games FOR HIS CAREER

titans won 3 of those

Mariota tacking up them garbage time yards

Then why does he have an ABOVE AVERAGE QBR...which takes garbage time into account)???

Cuz he really good atcompleting one yard passes,

Numbers don’t lie. Mary’s biggest
Games come in losses.

Garbage time champ

Garbage time champ
You dont look at game splits do you? mary has very little garbage time production.

Lets look at the games we lost before the 4th quarter last yr.

Ravens, down 21 entering 4th Q. Mary stats that quarter: 13 total yards.
Indy game #1: down 31 entering the 4th Q. Mary stats that quarter: 0-yards.

so where are these garbage stats?

That definitely doesn't say "garbage stats." It says "clutch" all the way!

When down 2 scores mary is 30/39 357-yards and a TD, but 2 scores isnt what youd call garbage time unless its within 4-minutes of the game ending

so he is definitely NOT a garbage time QB like say Blake Bortles...

Yes, the numbers don't lie...but you just keep making stuff up to try and explain them! unfortunately, you don't understand the numbers...

QBR takes into account lots of game factors...time, downs, yards to go, score, etc. All the situations of every play AND it's effect on how many points you'll score (and your chance of winning based on that). So a QB throwing a 1 yd pass would not get much credit unless it was 3rd and 1/2 yard or 4th and 1/2 yard or throws a 1 yard TD at the 6 inch line.

Furthermore, you don't get as much credit for throwing a 10 yard pass on 3rd and 20 (since you don't get the first down) as you do for completing a 10yard pass on 3rd and 9.

So...nice try...but your 'theory' is wrong.

Try again!

Yea cept the last two years in qbr he was 24 and 44 respectively

Super above average though right

Cuz he really good atcompleting one yard passes,

Numbers don’t lie. Mary’s biggest
Games come in losses.

Let's see if you're right about his biggest games come in losses.

Here are his stats in losses...
56%_____103yds_____2INT's_____lost by 7
54%_____129yds_____1 INT______lost by 1 (dropped TD pass)
67%_____117yds_______________lost by 21
75%_____237yds_____1 TD/1 INT__lost by 1___missed 2 pt convertion
77%_____85 yds______1 INT______lost by 28
96%_____303yds_____2 TD's______lost by 17

If you take out the 2 1 point games,,,since those were not blowouts by any stretch, that leaves 4 games. How did he do in those games wracking up garbage time yards? He avg'd a paltry 152yds/game. Out of the 4, only one...ONE game was a big game in which he played really well and we got blown out.

Biggest garbage time QB? He's probably last in garbage time stats!

And as far as your assertion that his biggest game came in a loss, that's not right either.

His best game was the Eagles game where he had this line...
70%___344yds___3TD's___1 INT___10yards rushing for 46yds

4 of his biggest games came in losses never said his biggest game was a loss

Sorry brah. It’s a fact. Garbage time champ.

Where are you getting those numbers. Again, they are wrong.

Mariota's QBR's (from ESPN) are...
2015_____48.4
2016_____59.1
2017_____58.6
2018_____55.6

Where do you see 24? Where do you see 44? Or were you looking at Tannehill's...?

Super above average? No.

Above average? Yes

<yawn...>

A 1 point loss is not garbage time. So wrong again...blah blah blah…

Do you understand that a 1 point loss, by definition isn't garbage time...especially when we have the chance to win on the last play.

His best games were...Houston, NE, Philly, Dallas. That's 3 wins and 1 loss.

Try again...brah!
