Rappaport reporting Henry contract negotiations haven’t really gotten off the ground.1. I do not like pissing Henry and his agent off by not giving him a long term deal.
2. I do understand it's probably the smartest thing for the team to do right now.
3. He might hold out.
4. I need a drink.

Hopefully Henry and his agent understands that the QB is the most important player on the team.
Henry doesn't come off as the player to pout and hold out until he gets his way.
Henry and Tanny share agents, one is signed and one isnt yetHopefully Henry and his agent understands that the QB is the most important player on the team.

He won’t hold out this year—he is not at a point to turn down 11-12 mill for a years work. He might the year after if we tried it again.
The window on Conklin option was last year following a weak performance due to the ACL injury. By not rolling the dice then, JR gambled and lost. Watching our king’s ransom circle the drain...Maybe I’m mistaken, but wouldn’t they have picked up his fifth year option after the season ended?
I thought that’s what happened with MM.
I only mention it because the situation hasn’t changed as far as what Conk could do to earn that option year, so tagging him now does seem like a waste of money.
The fifth-year option has to be exercised between year three and four. The Titans chose not to pick it up last offseason.Maybe I’m mistaken, but wouldn’t they have picked up his fifth year option after the season ended?

I didn’t realize we had used the fifth year option on MM until the beginning of 2019.The fifth-year option has to be exercised between year three and four. The Titans chose not to pick it up last offseason.
You are living in the past. He did not finish on IR last year, where he played well. He tore his ACL then had a crap year following that as most athletes do because the healing process is long. He most likely is gone, but not because he didn’t play well last year. The Conklin truthers are ridiculous.
Dude finished on IR two of his first three seasons. Let it gooooooo.
I'm looking at the total picture. You're looking at one year. You are living in the past. He did not finish on IR last year, where he played well. Nope, if you look at the whole picture when he was healthy he was good. When he was not healthy we was not. Pretty simple, last he he proved healthy. Now we most likely have to burn a draft pick we should spend on defense.I'm looking at the total picture. You're looking at one year.
At best we'd be getting an inconsistent player for crazy money.
Ok. So he finished half his seasons on IR and is not good when he isn't healthy.Nope, if you look at the whole picture when he was healthy he was good. When he was not healthy we was not. Ok, tired of this one. Let’s find another topic.Ok. So he finished half his seasons on IR and is not good when he isn't healthy.
That's worth a long-term extension?
I would have had no issue using his fifth-year option and was a little surprised we didn't. No way would I ever extend him. RTs aren't worth what he's going to get and he's good sometimes.
Yep.So franchising Henry will be about $12.3 million for the year right?
Henry as a RB is just in a bad position at this point. If we franchise him, then another year goes by for a RB. The older they get, their value quickly declines.
If we franchise him and he replicates last season, then it's still going to be hard for him to get a massive deal, due to the fact he's one year older.. If he plays decent and (not great like last year) on a franchase tag next year, then it favors the Titans to not give him a massive contract. Since we don't have to franchise Tanny, I think Henry will take a loss on this.
