He's probably referring to the first jags game last year when Mariota came in for injured Gabbert, and won us the game with only 100 yards passing. But the fact of the matter is, we lose that game if not for Marcus coming in and making plays.
That can't be called the "fact of the matter". There is no way to know how it would have turned out. Didn't Gabbert finish the season 2-1 and Mariota was like 7-6?

Did you watch the game? Gabbert looked like a deer in headlights and was getting run over like one too, hence the reason he suffered the concussion. If he continued that game, there was absolutely 0% chance we win, zero.

I am sorry, but this is just false. He definitely goes through his progressions...seen him do it all the time.

We’ve seen Mariota go through progressions. We’ve been watching him for four years. But to be fair, on Thursday, there were absolutely plays where he was staring down Humphries. For all we know, he was told to make Humphries work. It’s preseason. I found it unusual, but it did happen.

When it comes to Preseason, I believe this more than anything.

Coaches want to see particular things that us fans are unaware of. For all we know, the Coaches told them to do whatever so they could see how someone, or the team, reacts.

Maybe so. I would need to watch it again. But that is not a problem he has had in the past—which others are claiming.

I think it’s the fact that his eyes were fixed on Humphries the entire time that is scary atleast in my opinion. I don’t care if he only throws it to one person as long as the chains are moving, but he doesn’t scan the field he stares his target down the entire time

Did you watch the game? Clearly you were not watching Mariota if you 'think' it's a 'fact' that his eyes were locked on Humphries the whole time. Even watching some highlights you can see on at least a few plays he's looking one way and comes back to Humphries. On the out to Hump that he missed, he read the single coverage and went to his best matchup. That's what we want him to do. Read the defense and take the best matchup!

The only time he might have stared him down a bit was on the last play where he's looking down the middle and that's where Hump went. But credit the D too. They jumped him early and in a game that's still a ball I expect Hump to catch more often than not.

Mariota had a solid start. Tannehill looked good after a slow start.

Are you also advocating that McNichols become our starting rb since he had a very nice day? Or that Redmond and Hollister should start since they looked better than Humnphries...stats wise?

Of course not!

It's week 1.

Relax!
