The fact that the allure of honoring McNair and George couldnt bring people out is all you need to know on how this franchise is viewed in Nashville.

This team has pretty much sucked the past decade. The only modicum of success is three straight 9-7 seasons, but only one playoff birth. Add into that the third straight first round QB bust, I'm surprised anyone in Nashville bothers with this team

That’s sad and might as well pack up the trucks again.
 
I can't believe how immobile Mariota looked today. Like a rabbit in headlights, no pocket presence, no ability to extend the play. Yes there was regular pressure but his footwork was a problem again. Eugh, what a debacle of a game.
 
This was one of the most pathetic performances from a starting QB that I've seen in some time. 2 minute drill with no TOs impeding, he checks down a few times and fires some floaters.

I think that he has had some talent. But it hasn't translated in years. Today's game convinced me that he's never going to get it, and doesn't really care to. The sack to extend the FG attempt was pathetic. His calling card was being clutch, but he contested that several times today. If he weren't being paid $21M, he would go the way of Nick Williams. The FO and coaches have to be done with him at his point. We've worked too hard to accept such a low level of QB play, and change will be coming soon.
 
I can’t find anything positive from today. Nothing.
Everybody was bad:
Tackling
Defense (see above mentioned tackling)
O-line
Mariota
Play calling
Coaching
Even Kern was off.

Hell.....the pre game production almost burned the place down before the game even started.
 
Mariota spiking the ball on third down was totally inexcusable for a Fifth year QB. The only thing i can come up with is that he panicked and lost track of what the situation was. .
 
We still have 14 games to make this decision.

If you ask me today if he needs to be part of this team, I would say HELL NO.

He still has a ton of time to prove us wrong.

I think after 4 years we know how this season will go. Mariota will look good at some points and look terrible at others. Then he will be injured.

He's injury prone and inconsistent. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

He's had plenty of time. We were wrong. Let's move on.

But he's a well behaved QB that wins from time to time and had a great successful college career.

I think that's enough to label him our QB of the future.
 
Unless he scripts a 11 12 game winning season where it wasnt the run game that took us there then can his ass. But we gotta take the plunge I reckon, resign henry to like a 3 year deal and ditch dion as soon as it wont cost us too much. We've had hungrier rbs since hes joined in my opinion missing out
