Yep.

Mariota got PTSD'd by this organization... soon it will draft another "victim".

First of all, no, I don't. He just doesn't have the feel to succeed.

Secondly, yeah, if you get drafted top 5, more often than not, you aren't getting those things. Deal with it.

I am dealing with it.

I'm practically ignoring the Titans and going full apathetic.

Unless this organization actually attempts to get a staff that can develop talent.

I meant the player has to deal with it. Not you. Lol

But yeah, me too. I careess and less every year.

I'll start caring when the organization starts.

Yes, the player has to deal with it... but reality is this team sets up key players to fail.

Getting downright disgusting.

look man- I get it. Totally feeling you. In my history as a Titans fan, I’ve never been THIS disgusted like this OL and offense has me feeling. And it’s a complete reflection of how this organization is and has been run.

but the thing about establishing an identity is that it has to start somewhere. The Titans product had it all circa 2000 but we didn’t win a championship and then our owner leader had began his health demise. It was a tragedy really. His heirs didn’t share his dream and it showed. AAS may share it - I believe she IS genuine in wanting to produce a winner but she just doesn’t have the experience (and connections) to excel above the rest.

we need a spark, a new approach, something to capture lightning. We can’t fit JRob, and really Vrabel. We need to trade any pro bowl vet not producing Premiere performance for draft capital. Butler, Ryan, Casey, Lewan, Saffold, Jones, Lewis, Jonnu Smith, all players I’d consider trading. Mariota especially except everybody knows we’re cutting him.

So in a Pees d by design we don’t have a pass rush from the front?
The main pressure comes from blitzes. It’s why we are top five in scoring defense. That, and the opponents’ offenses are playing conservative because they know our offense can’t score.

So, again I ask, cause you seem NOT to want to answer, wouldn't it be a great deal better if our D line provided some pressure?????????????????????

Bump for the inevitable firing of Vrabel. Seems like CTE has gotten the best of him. Which sucks, because he seems like a good guy. But he is in no way deserving of being our head coach.

Ya, f**k Vrabel. He absolutely blows.
Take Art with you and as good as the D has played, clean house with Pees too.

Firing the OL coach is not enough, he needs an office space beating in a field.

Ok, I’ve about had my fill with Vrabel and Art Smith. We need a real qualified coaching staff.

I think talent wise we’re pretty good. It’s coaching and scheme. Look at the Rams after they fired Fisher and hired McVay. Went from a 4 win team to a SB appearance. With Jeff Geoff no less!

I think if jrob doesnt consider it, it maybe time for him to get his walking papers too. Drafting a QB is not going to fix this team or make art or vrabel any better

Yeah, we need a few other pieces too but I definitely think coaching is our biggest issue now. We have the talent to compete and on paper our offense should at least be average or better.

So I've made statements that range from wanting a primarily pocket passer in the draft to just signing FA QBs, instead.

Well, flipping through the radio the other day, I stopped at Fox Radio briefly and heard Colin Cowherd before I was about to flip again. But he said something that caught my attention... Athletic/dual-threat QBs aren't a fad. They're the future.

I vehemently disagreed... until I heard his reasoning. Then I agree with him, but for an almost entirely different reason.

Athletic QBs are becoming what the NCAA is "giving" the NFL. So, the "best" QBs out of college will, most likely, not be pro-style.

There's more to this, though... has anyone else seemed to notice or question the decline of the average Olineman? Finding quality blockers seems to be getting tougher and tougher.

An athletic, mobile, QB doesn't truly require a good Oline in college. And if there is a quality Olineman going into college, they may not even be coached up as much due to 2 things: 1 a program that is based on a more mobile QB 2 college programs getting by on their players just being more athletic or stronger than the others. Don't need to coach that... just need to get your school the wins!

I would argue - as I have a lot - that the quality of player coming out of college is far less refined/good.

So, a mobile/dual-threat QB is the future... because the NFL will have limited choice in the matter.

NCAA is not a farm league.

NFL scouts should continue to do their job and not take just what is “given”. They are expected to shop around, do their homework, and pick the best out of the bunch.
To me, the reason why teams settle for running QBs, is due to the college success, it gets some immediate fans in the stands as teams take some time to adjust.
Second, historically, most pocket passers take time to develop. Look what NFL teams do to their rookie QBs. They chuck them in the fire and if they don’t remotely swim, it’s on to the next best thing that can even remotely swim.

Some of the best passers in the league were far from world beaters when they entered the league and in one case, the benefit of sitting a couple years probably did wonders (Rodgers).

So I agree that’s what the NCAA is giving, and I agree that’s what the NFL is settling for but for the NFL, I disagree that is the best route to go. Running QBs should NOT be the future of the NFL unless we are just determined to continue lowering the bar for QB play even in a pass happy league designed to score points.
Lamar Jackson is far from the best QB in the league. Not denying his MVP quality season, but a career of only 3K passing will not be very long. The 28 TDs he’s thrown won’t last either with those kind of passing numbers.
