You sure that you didn't mean to say QB?
I said Gabbert was trash and kept luck on the field, and somehow that was a slam against Mariota.
you started with mariota, dont play dumb

Who was the QB during the Colts game?you started with mariota, dont play dumb
Did you even read my post? I said interior pass rush is more important than edge IMO. Pass rush is a top need of course, But Landry/Finch/Wake > Jones/JohnsonDid you not watch week 17 vs Indy?
Edge is about the biggest need we have
We play too many good QBs to just let stand in the pocket untouched
I ignored your point because theres a premium on edge playersDid you even read my post? I said interior pass rush is more important than edge IMO. Pass rush is a top need of course, But Landry/Finch/Wake > Jones/Johnson
“Allow luck to stay on the field” is a Mariota thing? After rewatching the highlights, the defense clearly wasn't the problem. If you allow Luck to stay on the field all day because your QB is trash and can't get a first down, you're going to lose.
Kearse was injured quite a lot also...just saying.Bosa is a heck of a player but can he stay healthy? He and his brother have issues staying on the field. I wish there was another J. Kearse out there
Yes. If you are constantly giving the ball back to the other team because youcan't get a first down, you're keeping him on the field.“Allow luck to stay on the field” is a Mariota thing?
Edit: or Gabbert?
There was only one freak.....Bosa is a heck of a player but can he stay healthy? He and his brother have issues staying on the field. I wish there was another J. Kearse out there
Gabbert sucked, not defending that but the lack of pressure was a huge part of that loss.Yes. If you are constantly giving the ball back to the other team because youcan't get a first down, you're keeping him on the field.
People forget that Landry sacked Luck on 3rd down and got the ball back for us when we were down by 1 score in the 4th. And the only reason we were in the game at that point was because of a pick 6 which resulted from PRESSURE. And that after Gabbert basically handed the ball to them in the red zone, Landry again took Luck down on 3rd down at the LOS (essentially a sack) and gave us at least a sliver of hope in a 10 point contest, IF we had a QB capable of playing at even a reasonable level.
We held Luck to under 40% conversion rate on 3rd down. The defense did a much better job than anyone realizes, especially considerin we were missing 2 of our best players.
Meanwhile, we were 1 of 9 on 3rd down. Let that sink in, and everyone consider who we should be pointing fingers at.
Also, people need to relax with the blitzing complaints. The best DCs are commended for their blitzing packages. Every single team does it, and we had the best blitzing ILB in the league last year, and another who could be even better. It is a waste to not use that to our advantage, especially since it creates uncertainty with the opposing offense and QB.
1 of 9 on 3rd down.Gabbert sucked, not defending that but the lack of pressure was a huge part of that loss.
1 sack, late in the game. Also gave up 119 to marlon Mack. The fact that the colts still had 40 minutes of game clock says the D did t play well.
And let’s not forget both of the first 2 drives of the game, the colts went for 90+ yards and a TD, 1 of which was 13 minutes and were 12 and 16 plays respectively. Both drives, Luck went 7/8 with a TD.
That’s not Gabbert or the offense at all. They pinned the colts back, got zero pressure and let luck rip them up.
why are you always worried about where "blame" goes? its a team sport, both sides sucked that game.1 of 9 on 3rd down.
The TOP or loss isn't on the offense at all? The defense scored nearly half of our points
