Jonnu is superior athletically, and it’s not even close. Firkser however, has proven to be very reliable and catch anything his way. Something Jonnu struggled with last year.

If Jonnu can put it together, he could take Delanie’s place in the next couple years. I like Firkser though, he’s done well for someone that just a year ago ppl didn’t really think he would make the team.

Love the avatar.

Who is the top left (I guess JR) and who is chef boy-r-dee supposed to be?

Still better than Firkser

Jonnu still had the most snaps out of all TEs, despite missing 3 games. He had almost 4 times the snaps Firkser had.

I disagree. Firkser was a semi- pro hockey player that converted football. Smith has longer tenure in football, but now that Firkser has had another year and lots of reps their skill levels are a lot closer than you think.

Firk gets a lot of love for catching a couple hitches

He was our 4th TE last year. Expect some more of that. Maybe he moves up a spot but Smith was traded up for and is just better.

Saying "There is holding on every play" is a cop-out. He had a hand full of jersey which impact the defender. It is textbook holding. :)

It wasn’t any more of hold than any hold that usually doesn’t get called. No cop out- just how it is in relation to your statement that Firkser can’t block.

Well he was where he was supposed when running those hitches. Which is why Smith didn’t more playing time early. Struggled with his route tree. (At least what was reported as the reason he didn’t get more snaps year before last and early last year).

Oh and we also traded up for Tampon Taylor. That don’t mean chit.

He and Conklin both held. It wasn't a weak call.

What does Conklin's hold have to do with it? If anything, your statement says it was a weak call because they didn't call it one player but did on another.

And to my point- the holding call by Firkser doesn't mean he CAN'T block which was the original context of the statement. If that were true as the other posted suggested, then Conklin (our "all-pro" tackle) can't block either by your statement.

No? I'm saying it wasn't a weak call on Firkser because they could have called on Conklin as well but they called it on him.
