I think there were some very good things to happen thus year...

1. Henry emerged as a legit all pro star.
2. Looks like we have a real WR in Brown.
3. Some of the young defensive guys (Simmons, Evans, brown, Jackson) have really improved.
4. The coaching staff really impressed me. I think we may finally have a real coach.

The uncertain...

1. Tannehil played well... But he isnt truly top flight. We can win with him, but the script has to go well. If we get into a shootout with an elite thrower, we lose.

2. The defense is good, but not elite.

Improving either one of these, either with an elite QB or an elite pass rusher can get us to the next level. Neither is likely to be sitting at pick 29.

Interesting no one has the Titans among the top ten teams to make the Superbowl in 2021.

I think we had about 3 games I could say were somewhat of a shootout with THill this year.
Houston #1. Even though the final score was only 24-21, both teams went up and down the field. THill did well and really it wasn’t kind of dumb luck Houston won. Imagine if their INT wasn’t returned from the EZ 80 yards but 1 of ours were. Probably reverse score.

Oak - final score doesn’t show shootout but the first half definately was. THill had a good game, Carr probably doesn’t count as elite thrower though.

TB needed THill to save that game and he did. Winston isn’t elite.

LAC another big game from THill and against rivers. 29-23 isnt really shootout per se but he did a good job.

Much like Manning in the early 2000’s, just about every QB needs a little something from at least the D.
I just don’t think I can agree that THill can’t hold his own against another QB ripping up our D. That’s not to say I think THill is some top 5 QB of the league. He had a great year.

The Titans are not going to be the next big thing. That was just their flash in the pan.

How has that guy managed not to be permabanned by this point?
for what? all I did was tell you the cold hard truth.
its just sports talk. no ones insulting you or your family. are we adults or not? this is trivial entertainment. not important business talk.

Its a process. This is only Vrable's 2nd year. The year before Vrable we got eliminated in the divisional round and today we made it 1 step further. Still missing a few links, but we are improving and moving in the right direction.

This. It’s def a process. We’ve def taken steps forward from out past 20 years. Now it’s a matter of hitting on a few picks that are game changers, avoiding the injury bug, and making a few big plays. I think we’ve got the right GM and coach to get it done.

We weren’t just lucky to make it to the AFC championship game this year. We played great football. We’re capable. Now consistency needs to be the norm.

Good teams have to be multidimensional. I thought we would have to pass-to-win, and they seemed to have our number with their run D.

The Chiefs ran well, showing they can beat you in multiple ways, which you need in the 'one-game-take-all' format of the NFL.

I think our D did great, and I'm not mad at our DBs either. Most of the time Mahomes had all day back there, and against an Elite QB, you need Elite rusher(s), plain and simple.

I was reminded of Cam on that amazing year he had, the one time I think he looked human was when Von/Ware tore things up. He too could run and gun like Mahomes, and they corralled him all game, showing that ultimately we are still missing pieces.

I'm so bummed, like borderline depression, but the most important thing is we build, not regress.

We've showed many times during the season and during games that we are not the 'Titans of old', but this is the final step to really prove it, to be a team that moves forward and not back.

Honestly I think recipe for this titans team is to start looking at 49ers or the titans when we were 13-3 twice.

power running. With a GOOD change of pace RB attack and nasty defense. Tannenhill can do WAY more than Kerry Collins could and we were fine.
Nasty D? Are you sure you were watching Titans games?

so, other than getting pressure on the qb, and being able to cover more than 2 seconds, and stopping the run the d played great? WTF

They definitely covered more than 2 seconds much of the game. Mahomes just had enough time for tea and cookies back there. Pass rush was a much bigger issue.

I guess I forgot to us the sarcasm font...yes the pass rush was nonexistent

Are people painting that THill folded under pressure?

What is this based off of?

He played great his first 2 playoff games for the limited attempts he was given. He gets a tough game in freezing temps where Henry isnt as successful as he had been and the D didn’t help at all and now he chokes?

Exactly. This is as dumb as the move on from Dean Peas take.

Tough to tell with 1/3 accurate in your statement.

We agree the d overall was not good. No pass rush. The coverage was pretty good most of the game and really the run D wasn’t bad except for containing Mahomes.
Third down D was a real issue. KC went 6/10. Seems no mahomes scramble for 2-3 yard conversions was super annoying and a huge piece to their win.

We have to address this defense, with Tanny, Henry and AJ we can compete on offense. We don’t have a Patrick Mahomes elite QB, but Tanny has proven that he can get the job done in the right environment.

But, we’ll need a top tier defense. A defense that can get off the field on third down and doesn’t allow explosive pass offenses like the Chiefs to march downfield and score drive after drive. One stalled drive by our offense and the flood gates opened up because the defense was so porous.

Pees tried to do what the 49rs did yesterday but we just don’t have the personnel. Rushing 3-4 and trying to cover on the backside. The problem is Mahomes has literally all day to sit back and wait for one of his speedy receivers to get open. The 49rs have a great pass rush, they get home with 3-4 rushers. We can’t. We have address this for next year.

Our Oline still needs some work too, when facing known passing downs, they get manhandled. I don’t know if it’s the Oline coach or what. They got better as the season went on so I think we have the personnel but something needs to be fixed there as well. We’re really close and I think we can be a consistent contender with a few more pieces.

Not an "attack" at Jackson... but if he doesn't improve his throwing, his career will be short - as it tends to be with most "dual-threat" QBs.

Can't wait to see what the Offense will look like next season. A. Smith will have 1 year of play calling under his belt, no "New" offense to install, (presuming RT is back) RT will have an entire off season, training camp, and preseason with the 1's to adjust what worked and what didn't and timing with the 1'st unit.
Lot's of positives !!!

I think it can be both. I do believe we've turned a corner but you could certainly say we got a little lucky. Maybe "lucky" not the right word but I definitely don't think we can expect Henry to keep up this type of production. This in all likelihood will end up easily being the greatest season of his career. Same could probably be said for the tear Tannehill went on after taking over. Not saying they both can't continue to be very, very good. But to expect this to be the new "norm" is probably a bit foolish.
