Lots or prognosticators saying Tampa is looking to move McCoy asap. I've see a few mentioning the Titans as a possible landing spot. He's not happy in Tampa but playing at a very high level still. Could take a mid rounder and a contract update to get him on the D line. Thoughts?

Five teams that could use Gerald McCoy and afford to pay him
I mean, I think he would be a great addition, but for how long and at what cost? Would certainly allow us to roll the dice more in the draft.

he's got 3 years left on his deal at 31 years old, about 13mil per season cap hit. that price is pretty high.

if he agreed to a slight paycut and we didnt have to give very much(in picks) i'd be interested, but i doubt he wants to do that.

Would fill a gap and does mean we can look at other options and to be honest hes solid.

Definitely not a bad move Casey, wake and McCoy. Get him signed and trade our 2nd pick for a 1st next year and cover our ass if Mariota doesn't pan out and we dont resign him.

Do it. Cost be damned if he completes the DL upgrades to make a SB run.
We get him, I could care less what gets drafted first round.

I like the move if we get him but I think we can find better as well. 54 career sacks in 9 years. Averages about 6 sacks a year for $13mill and an aging player. We would have to replace him and Wake the next few years too. I think he could average more playing along side another player who requires a double team(Casey) But id want Suh for a little higher value.

He's showed signs of declining last year, but if we could get him for a 5th or 6th, it would be worth it for a couple years anyway.

Just draft a guy that could be great for us for years to come and not some declining dude that might have a year or two left .

No problems going that route as I expect that to be what happens anyway but my only argument is I think to win a SB, the titans have to look at it as a 1 year thing without really taking into account issues that could arise the next year or later.
That said IF McCoy is a good enough guy, matched up with Casey, that the DL is solid and the first round pick could be used elsewhere, I’d be ok with that too.

From what I read, a lot of the troubles are from TB switching to 3-4 and him not being excited about the switch.

Do it. If we could give up a 4th or less that would be a steal. Who are you going to get in the 4th round that would be as good as him? We have the cap space as well, so why not? All things being equal, I'd take him over Suh. At least he plays hard every play and you're not going to have to worry about his motivation.

I also wouldn't try to renegotiate his deal so he takes less. You want him happy coming into a new situation. A lot of times a change of scenery will do wonders for a player, so him on the line with Casey would be scary and free us up to go elsewhere in the draft.

If Tampa is really looking to trade McCoy then it might be a good idea for JRob to try and get them to throw Cameron Brate our way as well. Brate would be a great plan B in case Walker doesn't bounce back well or one of Smith, Pruitt, or Firsker dont step up in 2019

Good idea

They could stand to lose Brate and be ok. Hes not their #1 TE

Sure Cause ALL our draft pick hit 100%.
Not against draft vs McCoy (or McCoy vs draft pending what we have to give) but your logic is flawed.
