Totally not ready. Fulton looked so so out there but he missed most of camp also. Playing so much zone with guys that aren’t on the same page is atrocious. Minshew ate us up.

Miss Pees aggressive defensive play calling. I think I saw two blitzes the whole game.
He gave up 9 yard on 19 targets and had a pick what do you want? Lol

Henry is second in rushing with 200 yards....there's nothing wrong with the running game or Henry. Also Tannehill is lighting it up with the passing game, nothing wrong with the line. The numbers don't lie!

Something to keep in mind is that it has taken 56 attempts to get to 200 yards. His 56 attempts are the most in the NFL and he's averaging 3.6 yards a carry, which would be over a half yard below his career low in yards per carry.

The problem with the oline is that defenses are stacking the box with 8/9 on first and second downs and the running lanes are being clogged. The line as a whole, particularly on the right side, is also not getting a consistent push, preventing Henry from getting into his stride and allowing defense to stop him before he gets to the next level (his longest rush so far is only 14 yards). The benefit so far is that Tannenhill is making them pay through the air when defenses are focusing on Henry.

Once defenses start adjusting to having Tannenhill lightening them up, the running lanes will open up for Henry and the yards per carry will improve and hopefully, Henry's carries will not be 25+ a week.

Derrick has seen 8 or more men in the box on 12 of his 56 carries this year. 21.43% of the time.

Last year Derrick faced an 8+ man box on 35.31% of his carries. Check out next gen stats to see the info I’m referring to.

This is not the problem guys. Run game just hasn’t been sharp. Not all on Derrick either.

Teams are putting 8 in the box less because tanny is playing well. But those 8 "in the box" are staying "in the box" way more. Just because teams line up with 8 in the box doesn't mean they are all defending the run. Ds try to confuse Os. But, they are really scared of henry rn, so they are committing a heavier load against him. If henry wasn't so freaking big, they would play like they did against cj. 5-6 in the box and at least have 3 safeties on the field that can tackle well. He's just to big to play that way. One of tanny and henry will have a huge year this year and the other will have a good year, you can't defend both.

Titans 16-0

I think if we broke down all 32 teams, both games, we would see a lot of sloppy play on both sides of the ball.
No training (or limited) camps and no preseason is playing a role for all teams.

I think the lack of all the preseason activities is also playing a role in the massive amount of injuries around the league.

Lol what? Henry getting a carry with an 8 man box doesn’t mean the safety bailed out deep on the play. It means when he got the handoff there were 8 men in the box.

Teams are loaded the box less because they respect Tannehill and the passing game. Titans just haven’t been able to capitalize on the opportunity yet.

No doubt about it. I’m sure a lot of the players are realizing how important that stuff is. I know they hate it but it’s clearly a very important part of getting everyone ready to go.

Surprised it is that low to be honest. If it is not 8 men in the box consistently, i wonder if teams are running more of that 5-2 front and that is having more of disruptive effect due to lack of training camp, etc.

If the OL and TEs can give Henry a fighting chance it certainly isn't Henry's fault. Also many of Henry's big run come when the defense is stacked against the run because once he breaks through he has fewer to tackle him.

IMO both the OL/TEs are a little rusty as is Henry because of no pre-season games. Henry has made a few bad decisions on runs and the OL is taking turns missing blocks. A small improvement all around can make for a real big difference.

Yeah I think it’ll come over time but I just can’t handle people trying to tell me this is just who Henry is. Makes no sense. He was going down pretty easy early in the Jacksonville game. Henry has to do a better job too but it’s pretty obvious around the league that OL play has been less than stellar so far. Not just a Titans problem.
