@HurrayTitans! time for stats man to enter the chatI think Henry should have won too, but 48 passing TDs (51 total) and a 70% completion percentage is not average for this era of football.

Any RB, especially in today's NFL, that goes 2000+ yards in a season should be automatic MVP. QBs consistently putting up 5000 yard 40+ tds seasons these days but how often you see a RB get 2k yards? Even when the league was more run focused, not very often.I think Henry should have won too, but 48 passing TDs (51 total) and a 70% completion percentage is not average for this era of football.

So he's a well decorated clownThat clown has won 2 of the last 3 MVP awards though.
On it.@HurrayTitans! time for stats man to enter the chat
Has happened a lot more than 2k rushers. Couldn't find a table with yards for the TD column, but you get the idea...that many TDs probably equal a bunch of yards. LolAgain, I agree Henry deserved it, but QBs are not consistently putting up 5k yards and 40+ TDs. Rodgers 51 total TDs were the 4th most all time.
What I gather is a bunch of short yardage TDs otherwise he'd be on the yardage listHas happened a lot more than 2k rushers. Couldn't find a table with yards for the TD column, but you get the idea...that many TDs probably equal a bunch of yards. Lol

Something is off with that table. Rodgers is nowhere on there for 51 touchdowns, the highest shown is 48 in 2020, and he's not on the yardage list at all in 2020.You literally just proved my point. They don't happen often.
Rodgers had an all time great season in 2020. So did DH. Henry's achievement is more impressive in my book. Both statements can be true.
I didn't do much "research". Just a quick look at 40+ TD seasons and highest yardage seasons... While it's not both together, I'd almost bet that a QB throwing for 40+ TDs has 4k+ yards.Something is off with that table. Rodgers is nowhere on there for 51 touchdowns, the highest shown is 48 in 2020, and he's not on the yardage list at all in 2020.
It does show that QBs have routinely thrown for 40+ per season, as well as for 5K+ yards. It doesn't show both in a season, nor multiple QBs in a single season, so I suspect it's might be who did most in each catagory per season. Or not.
Not knocking either the research done or the accomplishments of any of the QBs, I'm just pointing out that it doesn't prove anything by itself.
I’ll get to the rushing stuff next but here’s the passing context.@HurrayTitans! time for stats man to enter the chat
So 2020 he had a lot of TDs, but less yards than top 10 average..lolI’ll get to the rushing stuff next but here’s the passing context.
I started 2008 season (Rodgers 1st as starter)
I projected 16 games for his 2 injured seasons
Rodgers avg
4190 yards, 34 TD, 65.3% comp.
That does put 2020 about his norms in TD and comp%.
there are 2 listings, leaguewide yds/TD/Comp% and for the last few years, the avg of the top 10 QB (2017+) And Arod to show how he compared among the league for that year.
2008 - 3380.5 y/ 20.2 TD/ 61%
ARod - 4038/ 28/ 63.6
2009 - 3495.3 y/ 22.2 TD/ 60.9%
ARod - 4434/ 30/ 64.7
2010 - 3544.8 y/ 23.5 TD/ 60.8%
Arod - 3922/ 28/ 65.7%
2011 - 3675 y/ 23.3 TD/ 60.1%
Arod - 4643/ 45/ 68.3%
2012 - 3700.6/ 23.7/ 60.9%
Arod - 4295/ 39/ 67.2%
2013 - 3769.6/ 25.1/ 61.2%
Arod - (projected over 16) 4508/ 32/ 66.6%
2014 - 3789/ 25.2/ 62.6%
Arod - 4381/ 38/ 65.6%
2015 - 3901.1/ 26.3/ 63.0%
Arod - 3821/ 31/ 60.7%
2016 - 3863.7/ 24.6/ 63%
Arod - 4428/ 40/ 65.7%
2017 - 3589.7/ 23.2/ 62.1%
Top 10 - 4214/ 29/ 64.2-72% (#10-1)
Arod- (project) 3828/ 36/ 64.7%
2018 - 3804.3/ 26.5/ 64.9%
Top 10 - 4613/ 34.8/ 67.7-74.4%
Arod - 4442/ 25/ 62.3%
2019 - 3759.4/ 24.9/ 63.5%
Top 10- 4402/ 28.9/ 66.0-74.3%
Arod- 4002/ 26/ 62.0%
2020- 3842.4/ 27.2/ 64.8%
Top 10- 4460/ 36.8/ 67.3-70.7%
Arod - 4299/ 48/ 70.7%
2021 - 3881.3/ 26.3/ 64.8%
Top 10 - 4666/ 36.3/ 67.2-70.4%
Arod - 4115/ 37/ 68.9%
2022 - 3701.2/ 23.4/ 64%
Top 10- 4452/ 29.5/ 66.5-69.8%
Arod - 3695/ 26/ 64.6%
Generally speaking, Arod avg a little lower than the avg top 10 QB. 2020 was a breakout difference in TD and comp% even though numbers overall were up.
Still have to do RB to see how Henry was against other RB that year for the “should have been MVP” part but
on The statement that 5K and 40+ TD are consistently put up, it’s not that far of an exaggeration over the past couple years and there have been a handful of guys to reach it, even multiple same year.
If he had said 4700 and 36 TD consistently, I’d say he’s right.
Thanks for doing the homework, HT! I knew something was off with the list.I think the 18 rushing TDs to match were also a big part of what should have been MVP.
THill putting up 33 TD probably hurt Henry in that department despite less than 4K passing.
Something is off with that table. Rodgers is nowhere on there for 51 touchdowns, the highest shown is 48 in 2020, and he's not on the yardage list at all in 2020.

So 2020 he had a lot of TDs, but less yards than top 10 average..lol
Just means he got a bunch of short yardage TDs
If Henry got 30 TDs and 1100 yards is that mvp worthy? @Carp
The yardage matters to me bc it just shows an excess of dinks and dunks, which is why I said if Henry would've gotten a bunch of <5 yard TDs is it really that impressiveProbably. Scoring points is the name of the game.
Rodgers had 4299 yards and another 140 rushing yards. But all accounts a great year. I don't know why you're focused so much on yardage, but he had still had a great year yardage wise along with 51 TDs, which is 4th all time.
