I can also argue MM8 helped elevate DW into a pro bowler. Prior to MM8, DW was never mentioned by an media outlet as a top tight end.
LOL. He had his 2nd most productive season of his life before MM8 arrived, with pond scumb at QB. MM8 came along at the right time, for his own sake

Racking up stats in garbage time, ok. But did he become a pro bowler? No. Only did when MM8 arrived

Anyone who would complain about Taywan as the WR #4 isn't smart enough to acknowledge that Mariota is a well below average QB who knocks his supporting cast down a peg or two
I know you hate Mariota, but he's not the reason Taylor does this

Until we get a legit QB, none of the WRs are a factor. Flota loves him some TEs and sacks though.

He's good for keeping the humorous side of the highlight reel stocked.
There's few things funnier than a receiver letting passes bounce off his helmet.
Which happened twice last season, but at least the Titans won both games, so we know it was purely for comic relief.

I would think that's possible. Especially with walker coming back from a major injury. Jrob has invested a ton in the wrs corps.
Five pass catchers and an empty backfield.
DW off tackle, CD and AJB out wide, AH slot rt, with Lewis motioning into the left slot opposite AH.

And watch the H8ers melt down.

Yea cept he had a better season with mett/locker than most the seasons he’s had with mariota

Kinda puts a nail in that balloon. Walker would be a beast with any qb, given a full time opportunity. Walker was gonna get a full time starting opportunity cause he looked so good behind Davis

Off topic, but damn that burger looks great! I'd chomp that down right now after drinking all night and watching my blazers win in 4 OT

Seeing how the WR room is getting crowded.... I don't believe so..

Majority of the receptions are going to Corey, Delanie, Adam, and AJ..... I don't see Taylor being much higher than 30-40, with 400 yards... MAYBE..

Honestly... I have a real hard time seeing Marcus using all this receiving talent to it's capacity. And I hate that.

There's a lot of mouths to feed, and not much food. I really hope we see him come alive this year. Figuring out the salary cap issue of signing him long term is the best case scenario problem to have.

I dont see there being much issue in keeping him.

Hes on the books right now for 21M. How much more can a middle of the pack QB be? $25M maybe?

If so that's easy to fit in to the future

2018 Receptions

Davis 65
Lewis 59
Taylor 37
Sharpe 26
Smith 20
Firkser 19
Henry 15
Stocker 15
Jennings 11

See how long it took me to get to a 4th wide receiver? Now let's factor Humphries and Brown being significant upgrades at WR 2 and WR 3. And the return of Delanie.

2019 Receptions

Davis 70
Walker 55
Brown 50
Humphries 48
Lewis 45
Smith/Firkser/Pruit 25
Henry 15
Taylor 12
Sharpe 6

By this reasoning, unless there's an injury to someone above him, no, I don't think he'll be much of a factor.

That being said, teams like the Bucs had 8 players with 20 or more receptions, so ya never know.

Depends on how they scheme imo. He's a burner who can get deep and is also an asset in the reverse and screen game. He has a role, just depends on how much they use him.

Even if he's only making 1-3 plays a game that's a contribution. Could be a long ball, a key first down, trick play. There's going to be a lot of weapons this year and when you have Davis, Walker, Humphries, and Brown on the field its tough to get a big slice.

Davis 10 Targets
Walker 9
Humphries 6
Brown 6
Sharpe 2
Taylor 2
Pruitt 1
Firkser 1

That's 35 passes which is over our average last year and a realistic breakdown imo.

An injury to any of our WR's though instantly gives Taylor a shot. I think we need either him or Sharpe or both just in case we have injuries. Sharpe is a reliable target with good hands and Taylor is a burner who can fill a role too. Both could be key in keeping our offense from skipping a beat if they improve

I really could care less abouta second year WR dropping some passes. I want to see that they can get open, and he can. He beat Ramsey on this play, but Mariota made an awful underthrow, so there is no room to put all of the blame on the WR

Receivers gotta catch the ball PERIOD. That’s their job!

His job is to catch the ball, that's the first thing you should care about

What use is there to getting open if you cant catch the ball?

Focus drops are common with young players and can be corrected. Being slow unable to get open can't.
