Honestly, IF she was raped, I wouldn't blame her for just going for the money. She knew she was going to get dragged through the mud either way (and this thread is a perfect example of that), and getting him convicted (if she even could meet that higher burden of proof) would do what? He's not going to jail for very long if at all.

If you don't feel like you're going to get justice... might as well get something for all that pain and suffering. It's the whole reason that civil charge exists.

My problem with the league is that they busted guys for a lot less negative publicity under the guise of “conduct detrimental” “tarnish the shield” etc. It highlights the inconsistency of the league’s administration of the policy. And the fact the Pats are receiving the benefit of a clear contract manipulation by AB to get to the Pats also exemplifies a “favored” treatment the Pats gets when “bending” the rules.

I wouldn't say the Pats are the leagues fav team, at least not Goodells. They're constantly on the Pats for one thing or another

Pats just smarter than the rest of the world...

This is pretty much impossible to prove. The pats/AB are gonna get that thrown at them wether or not it’s true. That was going to be a theory regardless of AB’s civil suit. I don’t see how these things somehow amplify each other without some corroborating evidence.

I guess it’s smarter. I think they do BREAK the rules and their is no alternative but to punish them when they get caught. Videotaping practices/signals, deflating the balls etc. They attempt to worm their way out of the punishment and then just get busted for something else.

So if that’s the spirit of the competition and parity, then I guess they’re smarter. I think it’s the sort of thing that sets up an unfair advantage because other teams just aren’t willing to compromise their integrity of fair competition.

I agree. But it certainly falls in line with the “Patriot Way” of doing business. (IMO of course)

Other teams cheat too. Greg Williams teams. The Saints. Im sure there are more Im forgetting...

There were multiple QBs during the deflate gate scandal that basically scoffed like uhhh we all do that?

Also, “bending the rules” isn’t always breaking them. It’s finding an edge and using it. Every team is looking for that edge. We are talking about people’s livelihoods... and some of the ultimate competitors coming together and forming teams all looking for the same goal.

I doubt that. People who know Antonio Brown are probably the people most skeptical about his story. He is known to be all about himself, inconsiderate, entitled, etc.

All those things equal a terrible person. They don’t equate to being instantly vilified as a rapist.

No, all of those things PLUS being accused of rape.... I am just saying, anyone who knows Brown has to doubt him just as much as they may doubt her.
