Think about how many years we came up one spot short..
2018
2016
2011
2009?
2006?
I'm still against it. If this rule was in effect last season we woulda had Duck Hodges and Jared Goff (who was horrible) in the playoffs.
it would make more sense if they made every team play 1 international game a year imo. they make more money on those games (usually), it would be a huge marketing boost for them, and owners lose nothingMeans half the teams will get an extra home game every year.
We’ll just be 9-8 now.I guess this will increase our chances of getting in at 9-7 from once every other year to 2 times every 3 years
Or at least a neutral site like major cities without a team. Of course I’m sure NFL would push more international games.it would make more sense if they made every team play 1 international game a year imo. they make more money on those games (usually), it would be a huge marketing boost for them, and owners lose nothing
Nothing, but Goodell is set on growth and keeps his job because of it.What's wrong with the current format? really though? it's fine
In general I agree. NFL has almost the ideal setup and some of the expansion ideas Goodell has are awful (I.e. a team in London).Nothing, but Goodell is set on growth and keeps his job because of it.
I dont like change for the sake of change, but the NFL does. Which means they will have to cash in on the new TV deal to avoid adding a game to increase revenue. The players hate the 16 games as is, no way they want 17.
are people going to stop watching because of 1 extra team in the playoffs and 1 extra week of games? definitely not. the league knows this and wants to cash in.In general I agree. NFL has almost the ideal setup and some of the expansion ideas Goodell has are awful (I.e. a team in London).
they make billions every year. How can they not be content with being one of the most successful businesses out there? If anything, I see current expansion as a more likely gamble to cost viewers/money rather than gain. I would totally understand if there was an inclination of decline from the current profits, but expansion for the sake of expansion is a bad business move in my eyes.
