Depends how they do it. I feel like big schools are gonna recruit guys by saying "Hey, we have this (insert business) company that will give you an ad deal as soon as you report to camp worth $xx,xxx/yr."

At least, that's how I would do it.
But they’ll already have starters on the team getting their ad money.
Like if the QB is already big, not going NFL, how can they recruit another one knowing he won’t play based of ad money? He’s probably not getting any until he shows his marketability.

If XFL is to poach anything, I would bet more on the non-marketable positions first. I don’t see a whole lot of OL commercials. If they want money immediately, then XFL would be more likely the way to go.

I think fanbases/boosters will begin take it upon themselves to blow money on signatures and ad deals (boosters). If I could spend $50 on player signatures a year to guarantee my college team is in the running every year, I'd probably do it. And there are more like me, and more that will obviously spend higher than that.

I guess I overlooked the signature aspect too.
A top recruit, even with no plan to play for a year or two, could still make a lot of money of signatures.
