Well, AJ proved he's a solid #1 NFL WR. A real roll of the dice with this guy.View attachment 19611 View attachment 19612 View attachment 19613 View attachment 19614 One is AJ and the other is Treylon. Very similar college and combine stats. AJ likely had a better QB in a more pass friendly system and certainly a better team.
If Willis is there with our 2nd I'd like to us take a shot on him
Burks looks pretty damn good to me. Would not shock me at all if he performs just as well as brown over the next several seasons.
I dont have a problem with the player, I think he can be good too. I just dont like the idea of trading a proven player to draft someone at the same position. OBviously there are money factors and all of that, but its still risky when they should still be a playoff team.

Look at it this way...
It isn't aj for burks and a third.
Its aj for burks, third, and the ability to keep Simmons.
No brainer.
get those season tickets now...This was a $20 million business decision, simple as that. I hate it but it was trade him now and get his replacement or potentially loose him next year for nothing. Titans weren't going to give him 25 mil a year and Brown wasn't taking less than that. I just hate it wasn't for more draft capital. 1st and 2nd would of been much better.
Don't forget we also have to sign big Jeff next year and money is getting tight. hope this kid turns out to be as good as AJ.
I think Simmons is more important than AJ too, but I also dont know that it is an either or situation. They could have found a way to keep both if they really wanted to. This might end up being fine by all means, I just think it is a gamble for a team that should be competitive again next year.
Paying AJ the deal he just signed would have been dumb as hell. He's often hurt, has never finished a season. Has never gone over 1,100 yards in a season.
And now he's the 4th highest paid wr in football.
Not a smart way to run a team.
I disagree with you about the money and all that, I think if you want really good players, you have to pay for them at some point. But, I dont think it was a good move for the Eagles because I dont think they have a QB that is going to be able to utilize him. For all of Tannehill's faults, which there are many, he is a beter pure passer than Hurd and was usually on the same page with AJ.
NFL Draft 2022: Round 1 Grades for Every Pick
Scroll down to Titans write-up lots of good info on the positives and negatives of this pick .
I dont think they are in love with any of these QBs or they wouldnt risk missing out on them. Plus, if you wanted a QB should have taken one in the first so you get the 5th year option.
I think the write up on the Titans is spot on and the problem I have with this. Unless Burks comes out and has a Randy Moss-esque rookie season, then at best, the Titans used their first round pick to basically stand still. I think the Chiefs and BIlls are the favorites out of the AFC, but the TItans should be in the playoffs. And considering we just saw a team make an unexpected SB run, it makes no sense to me to not try and upgrade at any position, and instead essentially stand still at the receiver position.
Sooooo ….if he doesn’t have 1300 yards and 17 TDs he is a bust?
Jesus take the wheel……
They didn’t stand still. You had a player who wanted HUGE money and wasn’t worth it. It would have frozen the future of the franchise. Now we have a rookie WR with the same skill set on a rookie deal for 5 years. It’s a business. We also got more picks. But like Smith and Davis I don’t expect much from AJ in the future. But he got paid. Titans made the right move.
