22 returns, nearly 500 yards less than Andre Roberts. You might as well be saying Aaron Jones was the top rusher with a 5.5 yards/rush. Lol

There's a reason awards aren't based on averages
He can't control when the ball is kicked out of the back of the end zone, or that we had the #3 scoring defense and weren't receiving as many kicks. He returns what he can and has been our returner since the very first game of the season. His average is a lot more relevant than a rotational RB who didn't even play the entire season

We are about to smash the Brownies so hard that Jim Brown will feel it!!! This is where Mariota starts his Super Bowl run and MVP season!!!

Titans-149
Brownies 4
Damn our offense is going to suck if they get those two safeties on us lol

Yep. Our o line was not good last year. Now lewan is gone and Kelly may be hurt. Saffold has looked really bad in preseason.

I'm not optimistic. If it's a blowout, I fear we're on the wrong end.

Well Saffold should be an upgrade once he settles down. Short of that first play where he got pancaked and gave up a sack, it's really about learning to work together with Jones at OC. They did not communicate well and led to Jones' guy crashing hard into Saffold on the S in the Pitt game. To me that's half a sack each and something they need to get straightened out in a hurry as the Browns will be cueing up that stunt all day long!

But yes, Lewan missing four games is gonna be a problem and I suspect we won't mess around and give Kelly help...assuming Kelly can go.

My biggest concerns with the OL are that with Lewan out, we have no real backup OT and no real backup OC. I don't get the cutting of Levin unless this Pankey guy can fill the role better...but I doubt it.

I think this will be a give Henry 30 carries and let Mariota throw it when we need to or off playaction where we'll have more protection and less pressure. Would also expect to see them spread it out to get some quick matchups or wr/rb screens. Gonna see if we can run them over with Henry. If not, let Mariota win it in the end (get us into game winning FG territory so Succop can hit the game winner if the D keeps us close). I don't think they want to throw it a lot with this rush and without Lewan.

As I said in the off-season, approach it like the Colts did...don't get the QB hit which means short passing game and when you go deep, max protect off playaction.

disagree with this, our defense stopped them twice then came off the field, THEN pitt marched down the field and scored against our backups.

Technically true. But looking at the film, Ben missed 2 easy throws he shouldn't have and normally wouldn't. They also had two drops...one for a first down and one near a fd on a first down play. We also gave up a 20 yard run. I wanted to see us shut them down from what we did, not because they dropped the ball or missed an easy throw.

Looking at the stats...yay! Looking at the film...not too happy. In week 1 they are moving the ball with that kind of play. We need better if we are gonna stay a #3 scoring D AND be able to play top 5 D against the best offenses. Keep in mind, we really only had Smith-Schuster to cover.

40 yards in two drives against our starting defense in a vanilla scheme. Really showed them who's boss

Did you watch the game? They dropped two passes and Ben missed two easy throws he won't miss in the regular season. We also gave up a 20yd run. Is that dominant D?

And we didn't play a Vanilla scheme. Vanilla D's don't use CB blitzes and the like. Do you watch the games or just check the stats?

You still haven't learned the word context!

I like Delanie but what is there about this team that people should be hyped about? Average to below average offense with a horrible line. Average defense with garbage corners. Bonehead return game.

This team always whines no one respects them but they do nothing to earn it. It's beyond old.. they are all talk.

A lot of things actually. First, can Henry run all year like he did last December. If he can, he'll be one of the best RB's in the league...if not THE best and that will bode well for our offense. Second, Humphries is a very nice receiver who will be open a lot and give Mariota 3 dependable options along with Walker and Davis. And can Davis take the next step? In fairness to him, he just needs more chances and that'll happen if the offense is more consistent. And speaking of consistency, the OL is improved though certainly not perfect. This should help our run game and give Mariota better opportunities to throw the ball out of playaction and more high percentage 3rd downs. And speaking of Mariota, on paper he has everything he needs...and improved run game, better OL, better wr's (Humph and AJ and return of Walker) and for once, the same system 2 years in a row. And he's on a contract year so it's make it or break it time!

Lots of storylines to follow and lots of stuff to check out on offense. Also, I think you'll see Hump returning kicks.

I think our D is above avg with a good chance to be great. Evans should really come on and Landry/Wake should give us more pressure.

Lots to be excited about!

Right.... Facts are lies.

You seem to think so when they don't agree with your opinion...like Mariota has been a top 10 deep thrower the last two years. No, you lie by omission and just bring up his stats from 3-4 years ago as being more relevant than the closest two years.

Honestly, just hoping for a better start than last year. Week 1 last year felt like a never ending nightmare

Yeah...a nice go in there and surprise some people and hammer Cleveland would be a nice start to the year!!!

It's all about the Oline on this one not only are we facing a pretty good front but we still have some question marks there especially with new players there.

-I see Mary going to Walker and AH alot.
-Henry needs to get going fast (O-line has to help)
-Defense make them earn it no big plays.
-Im also concern about our kicker is going to take him a few games to get going.

I think we will see Kern start his pro-bowl season off with a bang!!! He was the best player during pre-season.

Myles Garrett might be charged with murder after what he does to Mary this week.

I am very concerned that their defensive line is going to dominate us. I also think that our defense will have a chance to turn Baker over several times

I'm curious to see if DH is ready for the workload of being the featured back or if the coaches will ease him in slowly and have Dion get more touches this game. No lie, our O line scares me, they didn't look good at all vs Steelers.
